New Joe Schad Blog

Working now it seems.

EDIT: It seems to be off and on. Keep trying it. I think the post is still having some server issues.

Chambers should have a huge game!!!

Chris Chambers tells me today he grew up a fan of the Cleveland Browns (Webster Slaughter and Ernest Byner in particular) and, of course, cheered against the Bengals. He will have extra friends and family in the stands in Ohio.

He thinks the Dolphins will lose because of all the injuries.....and that the players might have that thought seeping into their minds. This after he touted the Phins winning all week.
Yep, the link failed the first time, but I got through the 3rd time. So it looks like they are still having issues with their servers. Just keep trying and you will get to it.

EDIT: I was meaning the one that Muck posted as well. I have tried each one and each failed the first time, but after a couple attempts you will get in.

Most interesting tidbit from that blog is below.....

Did you know that quarterbacks coach Marc Trestman has been off limits to all media since at least, I believe, training camp began? Dave Wannstedt has said through a club spokesman that he wants to be the lone voice on his quarterbacks. But do you think there's more to it than that? Trestman is universally regarded as a highly intelligent, well-spoken tactician.

Any reason why a staff undivided would have to worry about whether it's QB coach can be interviewed?

Has Wanny lost respect of many coaches and players?
I see this as a sign that the rumors of dissention among coaches was in fact true. Bad leaders end up having the Indians control the Chief instead of vice versa. Chief Wanny's hot seat could be approaching meltdown IMO.
Just a thought.

I saw that. It also lends credence to the premise that Dave Wannstedt was the lone ranger when it came to determining that Jay Fiedler should start the first game. I've got a feeling that Trestman is telling Dave to stick with one game, and that it should be AJ Feeley. Dave is too reluctant to make a committment to a QB not named Jay Fiedler though.

Trestman is indeed a highy intelligent, well-spoken guy. I was impressed when I heard him speak on WQAM awhile back. Interestingly enough, he's been a member of the Florida Bar for the last 21 years.

And I know for a fact that Trestman believes Sage is every bit as talented as A.J. and Jay.

plus the media couldn't dig around with Trestman for why he came to Miami and his 'future plans' (my guess to replace Wanne if/when he screws up) see below:

"I THINK that Wayne Huizenga won't waver from his pre-season claim that the Dolphins MUST make the playoffs this season."

I think we all know that the playoffs are looking like a long shot at this point, especially if Wanne starts playing musical QBs. Looking more and more like Wanne goes.

"I THINK that if A.J. Feeley shows great potential, Spielman will keep his job, even if Dave Wannstedt doesn't."

I agree, VERY good draft with most making the roster, team is younger overall, in good shape contract wise and because...

"I THINK that Rick Spielman did OK to acquire Marty Booker and Gordon for Adewale Ogunleye. I'm not saying I didn't think they should sign Ogunleye (I still think they should have). I just think that to acquire two players with their upside, so late in the process, was impressive for the first-year GM and he deserves the time to see if those players pan out."

a probowl WR and potential star RB for a pretty good and grumpy DE, (who I believe they could have ended up losing with nothing to show for him) I think he finally silenced his critics.
