Alot of fans knew four years ago that the Dolphins were going to have to rebuild from the ground up after years of squandering draft picks and poor leadership at GM and coaching. This is the first year in the last five that I am optomistic that we will see an upward swing with the team. Yeah, I know, ANYTHING is an upward swing from 1-15.
This franchise should be back in the thick of the AFC East race by 2009. I wouldnt be shocked if they finished second this season. When a new attitude is obviously in place, the team can start playing with confidence istead of playing "not to lose". A big thank you to all of the new Dolphins brass for taking the moves to give the franchise their own BIG BRASS ONES back.

It's been a rough couple of years watching the team slowly fall from yearly playoff attendee to cellar dwellers. The lack of good talent scouting and constant turnover at the coaching positions really put this team back. Constant turnover did not allow anyone to get a system in place and see it through to completion. What we ended up with was a batch of mixed and matched crapola. Agree with your post the Big Tuna has a plan and is sticking to it.

It's the first offseason in a long long where we haven't traded any picks to bring in a washed up player (who eventually turns into a bust). The front office is rebuilding the right way, through the draft.

I know this is the first time in a long time that I actually have faith in what the front office is doing. Some of the trades the Dolphins made before BP , were just horrible. I am not even going to bring up a list of bad trades the previous management made, it is too painfull to even list. It is just good to the the Dolphins headed in the right direction.

The best thing they did all off-season was unload Jason Taylor for draft picks with the resulting picks being probably better than what most of us expected. A first rounder was never going to happen, i personally was holding out for a mere second rounder from Tampa or Jacksonville two probable playoff teams. The Skins will not be a good team this year, and we managed to get two picks from them a second and a sixth, it's hardly a pot of gold but it shows that Parcells made the right move standing his ground rather than dumping Taylor out of desperation for a fourth rounder or something.

The rise to respectability will be a slow one...but the Tuna & Co. are doing it the right way. They are building the foundation in the trenches first. They are rejecting quick fixes and bandaids in favor of long term rebuilding.

I don't care if a team has flashy RB's or a multi-million dollar QB...if they don't have the linemen they are going to lose eventually. Games are won and lost at the line of scrimmage. I think last years' playoffs proved that.

Just my opinion and worth what you paid for it.

I hate to be a negitive Nancy, but a couple a serious injuries early on to key players (like last year) and we will be facing another season in the ****. I do think the FO has done a great job so far, but the squad is thin and I think its too early to evaluate what the FO has done, especially when a game has yet to be played. If that does happen and the team ends up winning less than 3 games will people on here still be saying what a great job the FO has done.
