New Look O-line

I don't know why people keep moving McKInney to guard. If he can't get any movement at center, why would he make a good guard where power is most important. He doesn't have good foot speed or the arms to be a tackle. He's a Center, and not a very good one.
If I remember correctly he has played some guard for us in the past, and I think he actually did better at guard than at C...I could be wrong, though.

i love it how middleton was just hanging around....no offers from any other teams, hasnt played a full slate in 3 years and we bring him in off the street and now he's gonna be a probowl RG for us....(#*& an a people i would love to see this as much as you would but let's be realistic.

Do you know of any vet player who doesn't come in expecting to start..especially on a team who OL was as bad as ours, but I'm still trying to figure out what happen to D. Cook.

Gotta agree. It's just people getting caught up in the eternal optimism that is training camp.

I am not saying he is going to Pro Bowl, but a step up to what we have now. Its obvious that Nick, and Houck saw some things that made this deal come down, and maybe with his experience, and great attitude he can give the line an infusion of positive kick @ss:drinkers: . I am just glad he was still available for us, and now lets see what happens! I think it's a positive move for the Dolphins.

After the adquisition of Ephraim and Middleton this is my prediction for the Phins 2005 O-line at the start of the regular season:
LT: Carey / Mcintosh
LG: James / McKinney
C: Hadnot / Ephraim
RG: Middleton (if he stays healthy) / St Clair
RT: Mcdougle / St Clair

IR:Smith
PS:Alabi / Wilson

In comparing this line to last year's I believe we will be a lot better. Any comments?

I'm guessing the Damion Cook could be kept ahead of McKinney, because he can play tackle too and we have heard some good things from him from the camp reporters. We may also decide that it is worth carrying Alabi on the 53 man roster so as to not risk losing him if we try to get him onto the PS.
I could see the OL ending up like this:
LT: Carey; McIntosh: Alabi;
LG: James; Middleton; Cook;
C: Hadnot; Ephraim; St.Clair
RG: St.Clair; Middleton;
RT: McDougle; McIntosh; Cook;
That makes ten, so I will say 9 in much more likely and the last spot could be between Cook and Alabi

Agreed. We needed a guard in a bad way and we got one. Its funny how any other year...before we got Saban and Co...the free agent pool seemed to "dry up" and we never really got anybody when injurys happened. I like thats happening now. Saban see's a problem with the center position, and he goes out and fixes it giving us a guard and that way we can move Hadnot over. Its genius.

Bro I hear you. The other thing is that we have a coach that a lot of the players in the league want to play for, as for Wanny, they just went to other teams.

I think the biggest thing is having coaches that recognize when players can or can't play and then doing something about it.
