New Mock: Cutler

Cutler is an allright pick for me at #15, gives us someone to groom for a year or two. Hopefully they get a vet who is better then Gus to teach him the ways of the NFL

i think gus will be a good role model to him

Ehhh...I'd prefer someone better than Gus to mentor for two years. Someone like Kitna, but it looks like there will be big competition for him this spring.

He wont be there at 15, thats just the kind of luck we have with Qbs. He will light up the Senior Bowl and combines, workouts and someone like the Cards will take him early.
If I was Vince Young and I saw this mock Id go back to school. Getting selected by the Saints would suck. Maybe they will work things out for good by the beginning of next season but I doubt it.
I dont understand the Browns taking a Rb. Droughs was good for them this year and they traded for him last year. They just spent 2 high draft picks on offense already the past 2 years. It would make more sense to go defense. But hey what do I know?

I'd love to see him lasat to #15 but I don't see it happening...I think he'll have a lights out combine and move into the top 5.

We'll take a linebacker (Greenway).

When did Kitna become better than Gus?

When did Kitna become better than anyone?

Believe me, anyone who wants Kitna as a starter or a mentor in Miami next year, get ready to be the butt of all jokes because with him at the helm, we'd be worse than last year.

Kitna is overrated. He's really not much of an improvement over Gus, plus Gus already knows our system.

We're susposedly going to take him at #15, but their scouting report says he's a bit of a reach at 15, and "Probably falls somewhere between J.P. Losman and Charlie Frye as a pro prospect."

That's horrendous and unacceptable, if true. Not to mention this guy really doesnt seem mobile enough for what Saban and Linehan want.

Have you ever seen him play. He had ONE year where he started out super hot, but faded towards the end giving him just a decent season all around. Our best bet is guy unless someone we are not expecting gets cut.

That's probably an older mock when his stock wasn't as high.

I wouldnt mind Cutler at all....but I have a question...

Everyone seems very down on Rivers...because they say he cant throw the deep ball....

But everyone loves Cutler.....and then I read this.....

Mechanics get pretty dodgy at times...Footwork is very eratic...Will take unnecessary risks and make some bad decisions...Gunslinging mentality can morph into recklessness...Has too much confidence in his arm at times...Struggles throwing the deep ball...Has not had a lot of success at the college level from a team perspective...Body has taken a lot of punishment throughout his career....

what gives....

It's not that he can't throw the deep ball he just makes poor decisions when throwing it sometimes. Think Brett Farve when he tries to make a play when there isn't really one there. Sometimes it pays off and other times ....
