I haven't seen him play. Clemson guy, about 6-5 260. My first choice is a stud LT, maybe guards or a tackle like Joe Staley in the second, maybe a center like Dan Mozes in the 3rd. He's apparently REALLY good- maybe a stud hybrid OLB/DE in the 1st and OL 2-4 wouldn't be so bad.

NFL Draft Countdown hot list:

1. Arron Sears, OT, Tennessee (SR)One way to put your name on the map is to shut down a dominating opponent and Sears did just that last week, holding both Quentin Moses and highly-regarded junior Charles Johnson of Georgia to just 1/2 sack combined. Already one of the most versatile offensive linemen in the draft having played every position up front except center, Sears is showing that he might be able to play the critical left tackle position at the pro level which would do wonders for his stock. A certain Day One pick, Sears is making a move up draft boards. 2. DeMarcus Tyler, DT, North Carolina St. (SR)Three N.C. St. defensive linemen were selected in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft (Mario Williams, Manny Lawson and John McCargo) and while Tyler isn't quite in that same league his stock has steadily been climbing. After losing so much talent up front the Wolfpack needed someone to step up and the man they call "Tank" has done just that, providing an impact presence in the middle. Tyler is already a Day One pick and in this relatively weak class of senior defensive tackles there is certainly room for some advancement. 3. David Harris, ILB, Michigan (SR)It's entirely possible that no player has helped himself as much as Harris has this year, going from a late rounder to a possible Day One pick. The entire Michigan team has enjoyed a resurgence this year and Harris is as responsible as anyone, becoming a defensive playmaker for the Wolverines. Harris has a shot at being the next inside linebacker off the board after potential first rounders Patrick Willis and Buster Davis and if he can maintain that ranking there is a chance he could be either a 2nd or 3rd round when all is said and done. 4. Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson (SR)Early in the year it appeared that Quentin Moses was separating from Adams in their battle to be the first senior defensive end chosen but as of late the Clemson star has really come on. Scouts felt Adams was maybe trying to protect himself from injury, which would be understandable considering he saw his teammate Anthony Waters go down, but despite the slow start he already has 6.5 sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss and he seems to be getting better with each passing week. And don't forget about that long touchdown return either. 5. Tony Hunt, RB, Penn St. (SR)At the beginning of the season is looked like the senior running back class was going to be Michael Bush, Kenny Irons and everyone else and while that still might be the case to an extent Hunt has clearly emerged as the #3 guy. In the last four weeks Hunt has averaged 140 yards per game for the Nittany Lions and three of those contests were against Big Ten opponents. A 6-2, 230 lb. North / South runner, Hunt isn't going to impress anyone with his moves but he will wear a defense down and that is exactly what he has been doing. 6. Victor Abiamiri, DE, Notre Dame (SR)Last year half of Abirmiri's season total of 8 sacks came against Stanford and it was more of the same when the Cardinals came to South Bend last week. After a slow start Abiamiri had only 1.5 sacks going into the game but after getting to Trent Edwards 3.5 times he more than doubled his output. It's obviously a concern when a player dominates one opponent and seemingly pads his stats but it just shows the type of potential this guy has if he can show a little more consistency. Now let's see if he can keep this up down the stretch. 7. Garrett Wolfe, RB, Northern Illinois (SR)It says a lot about the type of season you're having when you rush for 162 yards and the word "only" is often placed in front of the total. Wolfe has been simply amazing this year and despite registering his lowest output of the season against Miami (OH) his stock is still on the rise. The questions about his size are not going to go away but if he keeps putting up the type of ridiculous numbers he has been it will become a lot easier to reconcile the fact that he's just 5-7 and 177 lbs., although he's still only a mid-round draft pick. 8. Steve Smith, WR, USC (SR)Dwayne Jarrett who? In the two games since the Trojans star junior wideout has been out Smith has been outstanding, torching Washington St. with 11 catches for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns while catching 5 balls for 96 yards and 1 score against Washington. Similar in many ways to Keary Colbert, Smith will be more of a #2 or #3 wideout at the pro level but scouts have noticed the way he has stepped up in Jarrett's absence and it will surely help his stock come Draft Day. Smith just might be better than people are giving him credit for. 9. Tyler Palko, QB, Pittsburgh (SR)After an up and down career Palko is having an excellent senior campaign, ranking among the nation's leaders in several key passing categories. Palko is clearly not in the first and maybe not even second tier of quarterback prospects and he will more than likely be a backup at the next level but the way he has played this season could get him chosen as early as the middle rounds. When it comes to intangibles Palko is as impressive as anyone out there and if he keeps up this pace he'll have the stats to add to his resume too. 10. Lorenzo Booker, RB, Florida St. (SR)After splitting carries his entire career this was supposed to be the year where Booker finally realized his potential and lived up to the reputation he had as one of the nations' elite recruits back in 2002. The season got off to a very bumpy start for both Booker and the Noles but as of late he has shown some flashes, most notably a 115 yard rushing performance against Rice and a 105 yard receiving day against North Carolina St. He won't be an every-down guy in the NFL but he does have the makings of a fine 3rd down/situational back.

Just to throw it out there, here's what they said about Drew Stanton:

The Not-So-Hot List Drew Stanton, QB, Michigan St. (SR)It's the same old story with Stanton, who looks like a high first round pick one game and an undrafted free agent the next. This Jake Plummer-esqe inconsistency is sure to hurt Stanton on Draft Day and that talk about him challenging Brady Quinn to be the first quarterback selected is now long, long gone. Stanton still has a chance to go in round one, especially if the top underclassmen stay in school, but his stock has taken a major hit in the last month or so. The bottom line is you just don't know what you're going to get with

him.

p.s What about OL's Aaron Sears and Levi Brown? Jake Long?

Whats so good with palko?

Hes a Wanny Boy!!

hes not ranked high like brohm or HEnne
Good I don't want him to be ranked high, that way we can get him in the later rounds.

And I don't care if he's a Wanny boy. Wannstedt will pay us back in full for giving us such a high talented QB like Palko. Trust me, I've watched him play and he's great.

the choice is obvious to me, if hes available the Miami Dolphins must select Buster Davis from FSU. This guy is a beast and could even fall because hes so short (probably not any taller then 5'9). But this guy is ridiculously good and Id consider him 1 of those rare cant miss type of players.

Bills have a greater need at DE. We need a pass-rusher on the outside. Moses from Georgia is a better fit

The article said that Palko may not even be a second tier QB. How is that highly talented? He's going to be a career back-up it seems like. If we want to draft an average QB on day 2, I would rather have Jared Zabransky. Only thing is, I doubt we draft any QB in the 2007 draft, we have our "Qb of the future" on the team already.

Our biggest need is LB. We HAVE to get a play maker there if we are to be a feared 3-4 defense, like SD or Pitt. Hopefully we can address that in FA and end up with Porter, however if we don't that has to be looked at this offseason.

it's a little early to start fantasizing about the draft. let's just shore up that o-line.
