New PHINS NFL Draft Countdown REVIEW

Mods I know there's a Draft forum but considering the time of year, it's almost a ghost town over there - plus these guys are Dolphins now.

Anyway here's what Scott Wright had to say (yeah, the draft happened about a month ago but they've been doing team reviews per day). Today is our turn:

Thanks for the link.

Good, thought-out review of our draft. I think it was pretty much spot-on, except I think they over-estimate Jason Allen's injury risk. Yes, it's a risk, but after the medical evaluations & his performance already, I think it's a LOW risk factor. They make it sound like a HIGH risk factor.

Pretty solid and fair assessment...

Yea the whole Jason Allen long-term injury thing is a little blown up in this article.

Unfortunately Allen dislocated his hip in October, which for a defensive back is akin to a shoulder injury for a quarterback, but after showing well in workouts he was still able to come off the board right about where he would have prior to the injury.
Overall though, I think it is a pretty good assesment of our draft. I think we made solid picks where we could, and did close to the best we could on draft day considering the number of picks we had. I think Allen, Hagan, Wright, and Aromatheropy were great picks, however I didn't know much about Joe Toledo or Fred Evans.

Don't tell me to get back to work when you're doing the same thing....I mean who do you think you are my brother or something?

He also forgot to factor in our 5th round pick which went in last year's supplemental draft on Manny Wright. I still think Manny will be able to develop into a good player for us, which is all you can generally hope for from a 5th rounder.

i think wright should be good as soon as he gets over his injury, he freed up his teamates so the could get the pressure
