New play on kick returns

Both plays that Cobbs faked the reverse to Ginn were pretty effective. The annoucers were talking about how it freezes the kick coverage team a bit because the have to account for both players. I say they continue doing that on every play... fake it most of the time and sprinkle a real reverse in there every now and then. Can't be any worse that their kick returns before that. Cobbs had 30+ yard returns both times. Thoughts???

I loved it, we were doing HORRIBLE on kick returns the first three games so trying some trickery, or fake trickery, couldn't have been any worse. And it worked each time. Continue to do and and occasionally actually toss it off to Ginn or Cobbs.

I can't see how it hurts us. It's not like losing that extra blocker is bad since we couldn't block with the extra blocker anyways.

I thought it was going to be a huge failure at first cause we lose a blocker and blocking has been the issue more than anything but I have to give the special teams guys props, it seemed to work like a charm.

See if it works next week. We're going to have to prove the reverse is even a viable option or else it really will just have the effect of one less man. Teams will see the film and prepare for it, and it may be a short-lived gimmick if the league figures out that the second option isn't practical.
