IMO a new staff does not mean we have to endure another 3 year plan to become a quality team again.

The sooner all administrative and coaching offices are cleaned out for the new staff the better. However, a whole new admin / coaching staff does not mean we will see a complete rebuild of this team IMO. Despite the extremely poor play so far, this team does have some real quality players to work with and build upon. The cupboard is not bare so to speak.

A new admin / coaching staff that knows how to best utilize their players, and can get their players to play to their fullest potential would do wonders. Of course, there are plenty of players that need to be given their walking papers, but with a good draft and free agent signings, this team could get a heck of a lot better sooner than later IMO.

I think a significant portion of this team needs to be replaced. Our depth is trash at every position, we are seeing that point at the offensive line and the secondary. Our defensive line depth isn't the greatest either. People like to anoint Philip Merling to be this great depth lineman when actually he's the biggest waste of space in our front seven.

A new regime will *want* different players. Quite frankly I would too, if everyone is so certain they've quit on Sparano... I wouldn't want quitters on my team.

But just out of curiosity, how many coaching changes have seen limited turnover in personnel? Or quick turnarounds for that matter?

Jon Gruden basically took over Tony Dungy's Buccaneers without any major personnel changes and won the Super Bowl in 2002.

He also managed to retained Monte Kiffin, and his unit had been dominant for quite a while. He don't have a dominating anything.

This team has a good foundation to build on with some pretty good players-bess, marshall, hartline, bush, thomas, long, pouncey, starks, odrick, solali, dansby, burnett, wake, vontae, I just think this coaching staff is not using these players right and we have a losing culture and environment down there so of course things are going to look bad, we need a franchise qb, some tweaking on the o-line, seem threat TE, and some tweaking on the defense and this team will be ready to contend, whoever comes in will not have to rebuild they will just have to create a winning culture and add some pieces and that can be done in one offseason, were not like the lions were a few years ago when they had nothing.

In depends on who comes in..If Cowher comes in and gets assistant that runs a 34 you will see alot of the talent on the team retained(defense wise)..If Carl Petersen brings in a Cover 2 guy like he did KC then yes our whole d will be ripped apart..Oddrick and Starks would survive early on, Wake too..Dansby and Burnett could fit....other than that not much...Vontae could play in a cover 2, our safties would be gone..So it really depends on who comes in..Offense wise we seem like an open book..We have a WCO rec' in Marshall. A blocking tight end in Fasano. A brusier in Thomas..Set at Center and Lt..The rest is in shambles really tho.

We have dug a hole so deep with this team that we can't even climb out of it to even see the surface. The entire organization needs to be cleaned out and start fresh. And I'm talking from the front office all the way down to the water boy.

Again, that only works if they think the players fit their system. Which a new regime may very well think isn't true.

Basically, it's no certainty that it means a complete rebuild, but it's a pretty good bet.
