NEW: Russ Lande Interview on Dolphins Draft

From everything he hears, Alan Branch is the guy we are focusing on at 9? If true, I'd be shocked and dismayed. The rest of the interview is pretty good. I've been talking about it for a while, but it was interesting to hear that he says 20% of the teams view Ginn as a CB.

No offense but this guy is full of CRAP! Branch is dropping faster on the draft boards than...Chambers and Booker drops passes....NO WAY THE FINS TAKE BRANCH!

Don't get hung up on the Branch selection. Most teams will have Branch as the top DT. But, the common (false) understanding is that the Dolphins "need" to get younger on the D-Line. The interview points out that the Dolphins do have some young prospects and that there are other DT options later in the draft.

I really liked the interview, but I seriously hope this guy is majorly misguided with our picking Branch.

A few things,

Phins.com: Can the Dolphins take that kind of risk after the Culpepper fiasco? Do you ever hear anything negative regarding their medical staff after what happened last year?
Russ: No. When Culpepper got there, they knew what was real. They knew he really was not going to be ready for last season but Saban and the organization made it clear that they really wanted him to try to battle through. He's a tough, competitive kid and so he did and it set him back. I think this year he'll probably be up and down wherever he plays but I think a year from now, he may be back at 100% health and close to being the quarterback that he was before he got hurt. I haven't heard anything negative about the Miami Dolphins. Very few guys have ever gone through the rehab of three torn ligaments and usually it’s a two year deal. One ligament, the ACL, you can make back in a year, but two ligaments and three ligaments, especially, is a two year process so I can see Culpepper's side of it and I think he did get rushed back.

It would seem the local media is full attention whores, not worth their weight in dog poo. They could have easily maintained an even keel on the Culpepper situation, but what fun is that, lets just ruffle some feathers. If we release or trade Culpepper we'll be far more Sorry then if we just wait and let him heal fully.

Ted Ginn.....a CB??? I'm all for that, let him return kicks and play corner, if that's what he wants we won't have to worry about any WO in the league.
All in all very good read, I recomend it.
