New Saban Interview on Insider

Nice stuff, Saban excites me, gives me confidence the Dolphins are going to be a damn good team for many years to come and yes we will get back to the SB and win one within the next 3 years!

I would have loved to been a fly on the wall when the whole idea of a bubble practice field was brought up. "Yes we have beautiful weather, yes it is warm year round, yes it would be a miracle if it EVER snowed down here, but those darn hurricanes are getting annoying. Our players shouldn't have to worry about getting wet, or practicing when it is too hot." If Saban can sell that one just think of how good he must be at selling the team to FAs.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not completely disagreeing that we could use the bubble field. I just feel you have to have some guts to ask your boss for something like that. On the flip side of this is the reflection of our owner and his commitment to winning. Most of the owners put business ahead of winning, but Wayne H. has proven many times over that he is willing to win at ANY cost, He will do anything he can to find a way to spend money in other ways that gives us a competitive edge. Last year we had 22 coaches, the most of any team in the league. Houck was the highest paid OL coach and was making nearly as much M. Tice (the Viking HC). This year we have 3 head coaches, all of who are well paid. WH understands what it takes to put together a winning franchise and I feel very safe in his hands. I can't imagine how frustrating it would be to pull for a team like the Cardinals or even the Bengals where the owner is more worried about the bottom line than about winning.
THANKS Wanye, from an appreciative fan.

First of all, I would just like to say that this was a great find relative to the forum and what we as fans like to see.
I would also like to add that you have the best avatar ever!

I agree with your post but I also think the bubble is being built for private practices where the media and fans can be kept out. Which is a good idea.

Eh, a practice bubble is not that big of an extravagence for an NFL team, especially not in South Florida.

Thunderstorms are a daily problem here in the summer monthes. Especially in the afternoon. Playing in the rain is not a big deal, and that's not what they are trying to escape from. It's the lightning. The NFL wont hold games when lightning is a threat.

The Davie training camp is just a few miles between two thunderstorm feeding bodies of water...the Everglades and the Atlantic ocean. This practice bubble is going to allow them to not miss a dozen or so practices in a year.

Hell, last year a Dolphins cameraman was struck by lightning during a minicamp.

:yeahthat:

Lightning. There are other benefits for sure but the only way to be safe is to get indoors before the threat arrives, that could mean zero afternoon practices.

i could just listen to him all day he seems like he knows exactly what hes doin like hes got the next 5 years planned out already
