New Signing? Mormino replaced with Steve McKinney?

looks like they are going to add talent, and let them scrap it out for the starting job..

and I quote..

"They said they want to put their five best linemen on the field," McKinney said. "I can play guard or center. They've got a lot of young linemen, and I think I can help because of my experience."

sounds like they are giving him a chance to compete does not mean he is replacing anyone right now..

Well, as long as it's not Seth Mckinney again, i'm ok withn the signing.

A buddy of mine had told me we were looking to sign Jermaine Newberry also, but I guess that never happened.

Good acquisition whether he starts or for depth. He's got a real shot at a starting job if he is healthy enough.

Nobody has mentioned who would backup Long or Carey incase of an Injury. Mckinney plays both G and Center spot, he will be our swing man if he does not start. My question is who will backup Carey or Long if there were an injury, god forbid. I could see us picking up a guy like Olivera or Sims.

If McKinney is healthy for the start of training camp, he works with the first unit at LG while Justin Smiley moves back to the right side. McKinney will be a stop-gap starter until Shawn Murphy or Donald Thomas prove that they are ready.

i think if long or carey get hurt murphy or julius wilson would be the backups, wilson might not make the roster but we'll see, and i could be wrong but i remember hearing murphy played some tackle in college.

Steve McKinney has a lot to live up to!

Not really, actually it's going to be tough for him to be a successful player in Miami, i mean if he's TWICE as good as his brother was here, he'd only be average :)

i think we have our other starting guard... he will give the rookies some time to get used to the nfl. and adds very much needed depth and can play center.. exactly what was needed

great signing if true . . . the Oline is set and we get to keep Smiley on the right side w/ Carey . . . . if Long can be dominant early . . . this is gonna be an exciting line.
