Should MIA consider getting a new stadium? Maybe one that holds about 70k instead of the current 76k. It could be easier to sell out in a brand new stadium with less seats to sell.Of course there's always funding issues.

Miami is nowhere near getting a new stadium....have you seen all the upgrades they have done to the current stadium?????

They just need to reconstruct the current stadium by bringing the lower level seats a lot closer to the field. This type of reconstruction to stadiums has been successful in Europe.

We have no home field advantage with the seats 15 miles from the field. The Orange Bowl was awesome because the seats were right on top of the field.

this wouldn't happen because the marlins will be getting their own stadium in the coming years so Landshark Stadium will be exclusively the Dolphins, not shared...

But don't they share with the University of Miami?

You should totally sell this idea to Ross. Spend money on a new stadium in order to sell less tickets?
BRILLIANT!

Saw an article bout week or so ago about Ross talking about moving seats closer to the field. So it's good to know it's definetely on the agenda.

I have been saying that forever. I've sat in the 10th row in the endzone and on the sideline and it feels like I am in row 35. I think once the Marlins are out they will make it a permanent football only field and it has a real chance of happening.

from what i heard they are making Florida Marlins their own stadium making landshark stadium the new stadium without the baseball field, but i do not know if it is true.

If I were the Phin's owner and had an extra billion laying around  here is what I would do:

1. Make the stadium more comfortable for the fans. Put air conditoning under ever seat and mist machines like they have at a lot of outdoor bars/restaurants. I don't think a roof is necessary but maybe shade most of the seating area and just leave the area over the field in the sun. Here is a link to Allianz stadium in Munich, Germany. I think they spent around $500 Million to build it and it seats about 65-70,000, and the fans are close to the field. We need a stadium like this.

2. Don't force people to pay $20 to park their car. I go to Air Force football games....parking is free....everybody shows up to tailgate, and it is a great time. With the economy the way it is, don't keep people away from games by overcharging for parking.

3. Build areas around the stadium that people want to go....like shopping malls, restaurants, bars, etc. When I look at Landshark Stadium it looks like it is in the middle of a swamp.

4. WIN and the fans will come. :woot:
