Previously among Huizenga, Jones, Wannstedt, and Spielman they were listed 1,2,3 and 4 in the chain of command respectively. Now Huizenga and Jones are still 1/2 then there is Marino, Spielman and Wannstedt. If Marino took Spielman's VP of operations position after Spielman was "promoted" to the GM job why is Spielman reporting to Marino? Also, previously Wannstedt ranked higher than Spielman in the chain of command but now he reports to Spielman AND Marino. I understand why he reports to Speilman since Wannstedt was stripped of the GM duties. Why not just make Marino OR Spielman the GM/VP of operations and number 3 guy behind Huizenga/Jones and have Wannstedt report to him? What's the purpose of hiring two people? Is Marino just going to be a figurehead? That doesn't fit Dan's personality!

As far as I am concerned Jones and Huizenga are out of the picture. Jones is a year from retirement anyway. Wayne gave Marino the keys to the team.

Speilman did get a promotion, the players we obtain are his choice. Its Marino's job to decide whether Wanny and Rick and are doing their jobs. Rick's will handle all personel moves, draft pick, salary cap issues.

But whats important is that Dave, Rick, and Dan do work as a team. Which shouldn't be a problem, because contrary to popular belief, Dan does not hate Wannstedt, or for that matter have a grudge against them.

Essentially Dan Marino owns and runs this team franchise, but Huizenga still collects his checks.

Wannstedt will be on a short leash, Speilman will have slightly more breathing room, but make no mistake about it, Marino is their boss.
