I think this is my first post created. but anyway, while I was showering I thought "what if GB gets the #1 pick, Reggie Bush doesnt come out, Farve retires and they fall in love with Leinart. We could maybe trade for Rodgers"

I know thats a lot of ifs, but Id take Rodgers. I also undersand GB would take a decent cap hit for trading Rogers. Just an idea

Its posible.. I wonder how much of a hit GB would take? I heard earler in the year that the pack wasnt very happy with his progress, I know you shouldent expect too much from a rookie but I thought it was intresting.

Also, if GB use a second straight 1st round pick on a QB, that speaks volumes about Rodgers abilities.

They have more then enough wholes I think they rather try and trade down to get more picks or possibly even players and picks to cover some wholes on that team.

I disagree, u have to take the BPA and that situation and its not a knock on rodgers at all it just means leinart is better.

At this point Leinart isn't better than anyone, because he hasn't played a snap in the NFL, much less trained with an NFL team. If Rodgers has been doing good in GB during practice this year, why would you risk your second straight first rounder ? You're assuming that Leinart is a lock to be a great QB.

If they pick Leinart it means they've given up on Rodgers, and that's a huge knock. You have to be really really bad to only get one year of evaluation. If GB get Leinart, I wouldn't touch Rodgers with ten foot pole.

I would seriously try to talk Bret out of retirement and playing in sunny Miami for a year or two.

um okay. so leinart isn't a better pick than keeping frerotte, because leinart hasn't played and frerotte has? and if a QB is being taken #1 overall, i think you're assuming he's going to be great

I wouldn't touch him anyway. IMO he won't amount to much if anything.

Rodgers, from most accounts has dissapointed in GB. Why do we want another dissapointment ?? And as you said, they take a big hit by trading him and will by most accounts be somewhat tight for cap space next year...

This topic has nothing to do with The Dolphins or Frerotte.

I personally think Leinart will be an excellent NFL QB, but if I had picked a QB last year, like GB, I wouldn't draft him. You can't give your first round pick a single season to prove himself.

If they draft him, which there is about as little chance of as us drafting Reggie Bush, it's because Rodgers has given a horrible impression in record time, not Leinarts talent.
