New Wishbone Offense!!!!

Imagine this....a old fashioned, highschool offense wishbone ran in the NFL just like the good ol' days! We have ricky and Ronnie at the halfback positions, and....JAKE LONG at fullback! That would be sick!!! How could jake long not get 10 yards a carry? I mean come on! who's going to tackle that big guy! I know I wouldn't!!!
 
:), Wishbone/Option type plays have always been difficult to run in the NFL due to the size and speed of Defense Players. I have always wanted to see a team succesfully run the option in the NFl.

I would imagine it's pretty easy to knock over a guy who is 6'7'' while running....keep dreaming.
 
nah... i think that we should be looking to Rugby... never understood how you could not find more than just kickers that could make the transition... Those guys are HUGE evil and fast!!! Get a couple of those Maori Warriors from the 'All Blacks' :lol:

Who then would line up @ Left Tackle?

Seriously(?), Polite would be a decent FB.

Why stop w/ the wishbone? What about the I-bone, Veer?
 
Is this supposed to be a satirical thread? I just don't get it. Am I missing something here? Or has there been a pattern of 6' 7" behemoths excelling at fullback that I haven't heard about?
 
Didn't Chicago do it with 'The Fridge' back in the days of the 'Super Bowl Shuffle'? :sidelol: he was a DT but still a behemoth...

And no i would NEVER seriously consider it... We don't need people taking free shots at Jake's knees.

Wait.......what about if we used College cheerleaders AND a dwarf?

very little yards are gained with that offense.....but your uniform sure can get dirty.

Let's take the highest paid Pro-bowl LT and move him to FB and have a LB cut him at the knees when he's coming through the hole, yaaaaaaa!!!!!
 
Aren't DTs (like the Fridge) a little more compact (like bowling balls and most FBs) while LTs (like Long) are taller and rangier? The thread posited him as a 10 yard a pop runner, not a lead blocker or short yardage guy.
