News: Culpepper to Stay

Culpepper will perform in the April QB camps, there's no doubt about that. But his fate may be sealed if he isn't 100% or isn't the same Daunte.

Don't rule out Miami bringing both Green and Carr in, and then trading C-Pep - This whole thing is so wide open and unsettled right now

Its a smoke screen. They want to make it seem that Culpepper's healthy to get his value up.

Good point. I think that if Cameron truly believed that Culpepper was healthy and wanted him as his QB, we wouldn't even be looking at the Greens or the Carrs. Good point PhinsRDbest!

Dolphins are expecting Culpepper at camp!!

No offense, but that's a misleading title. Expecting someone at camp doesn't even guarantee he'll be here at the end of that camp, let alone longer than that. Cam & Mueller would be fools to cut Culpepper before the draft, because it telegraphs their intentions. Houston didn't have to worry after signing Schaub & paying him starter money; cutting Carr was a foregone conclusion. Miami has to be much more careful in regards to what teams think we will do about our QB situation or we'll either miss out on the guy we wanted or overpay for a vet.

I agree that's a good point about trying to get DC's trade value up... but after last year with everything we heard and read about his rehab, the only thing that would convince a team that he can play again and play well, is to see him do it on the field. There is no way in the world, IMO, that DC is on this roster come August to show anyone that. He'll be cut, the only question is when. Best guess... after the draft and before training camp in July. All comes down to not giving away your draft intentions and the whole June 1st issue in relation to the cap hit we'd take.

It could be because Cameron wants an insurance policy.

C-Pepp will be at camp!!

I hope C-Pepp does go to camp, las tyear was an aberation. He was rushed back. He's had enough time to recover now and he's ready. I truly believe C-Pep to Chambers will make many a highlight reel.

We need to keep our draft picks and say "NO" to Green. If anything get Carr and lets see who wins in camp!!!

Cameron won't let our offense be sub-par. Brown will run and catch and make everyone a believer. :dolphins:

"Whoever our quarterback winds up being, it will be a guy that has earned the job," Cameron said. "The great quarterbacks don't want it any other way. I've never been around a quarterback that was given a job. That's our approach."

I'm rooting for Daunte.

Probably an insurance policy for the present and if he drafts a QB like Quinn, then it's an insurance policy for the future. He knows the importance of a QB and it's best to hedge your bets.
