The Miami Herald has two articles with some minor Dolphins tidbits.

This article says how Cam Cameron is not considering Marty Schottenheimer for any of the Phins open positions.

This article has a small piece at the end saying, "The Dolphins told impending restricted free agent Cleo Lemon they expect he will compete for playing time and discussed a new contract this week, agent J.R. Rickert said Tuesday."

Nothing particularly unexpected here, but it should end the speculation about Marty coming to Miami. It also shows that Cam wants to give Lemon a fair shot to prove himself.

I hope we add one more to that competition ..

I'm a huge culpepper fan but if he can't recover and lemon is excellent in competition, well I'll just have to put away my Pepper jersey (worn once!) and root for the better QB. I feel comfortable going into camp with Pepper, Lemon (damn anyone want chicken?) and a rookie/FA.

I'm glad to see Cam is opening up the competition. As much as I like Culpepper, if he's not ready to come back (or if he just doesnt have it anymore), I have faith that Lemon can be solid. I still hope Quinn falls to us and we pick him up, though.

I don't see Lemon as a starter, but I can see him as a good 2nd stringer

Just praying Daunte comes back to his 2004 Pro Bowl form, then none of this will matter. If not then I hope Cleo does well, either way I have faith in Cam's knack for developing QB's.

I'll go on the record right now,,Cleo could be a good QB in this league,he will give daunte a run for his money, daunte will win the starter spot and cleo will settle in to the 2nd QB position on our team.

All this equals a great QB situation for our team in the future.

I'am a firm believer in Cleo,i watched the film on him in Indy, the man played a great game for us especially for it being his first pro. start,,kid had poise, pocket awareness, mobility, beautiful throwing with a rocket for an arm,,and the best about him was that he did not get rattled in that dome,,HE'S A GOOD QB and i'am happy he's on our team.

I am definentely not sipping the Lemon juice....2nd or 3rd string, not a bad option, but as a starter, we mine as well enjoy the bottom of the AFC east.

ouch, i like chicken too

I am sure I am in the minority here, but I bet cleo wins the starting job. He has to have a leg up or even two on the offensive scheme and he is completely healthy. And in all honesty I just don't think Daunte is going to return to form and it has nothing to do with his health it has to do with learning a new offense. I can only think of one thing daunte has over cleo and thats experience, which is important. But it has been so long since culpepper has played well, but there are just so many things I don't like about him.

Then god help us........there is a reason you havent heard of him until he became a 3rd string dolphin. I say if pepp is hurt, we draft quinn or stanton, and throw them to the wolves.....we need to groom a QB.
