Dolphins | Taylors reconcile
Mon, 21 Aug 2006 23:17:45 -0700
Harvey Fialkov, of the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/167">Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins DL Jason Taylor and his wife have reconciled. According to Broward County family court records, Katina Taylor's attorney filed a notice of voluntary dismissal after filing for divorce March 22.

As the Phins Turn.......so does the Daze of our lives.

I know some think this is "off limits" and others think, "Well, these guys are professional so it doesn't matter."

But, the reality is, athletes are not machines. As much as they will tell you, "I tune all that out" (And, in fact, many of them are able to do this better than others b/c of the nature of the commitment they make to football), it still is not something they can do completely.

Anyone who says that such circumstances cannot have a negative impact on their performance is lying. I've heard athletes say that many times, then 2-3 years later, they'll say something to the effect of, "Oh, that rough patch I had back then really affected me and I feel rejuvinated now that it's over."

I've also noted this in several biographies. I remember McEnroe's in particular. Just about every bad patch he had in his career - until his skills started diminishing - was a result of the emotional impact of problems with his personal relationships. I've read this from others in other sports as well.

All that is to say that I suspect this will give Jason some peace of mind and help him concentrate on the season ahead - and, at the same time, even moreso, I'm happy for him as a person to have things back on a good track as he seems to be a decent guy.

Damn dude where have you been Kenny? I haven't seen you around here in a minute.

I'm usually schmoozing with the wondeful folks in the VIP section

this is big. My wife is mad about a small thing from last night and it has ruined my whole day. No telling what divorce would do.

Best of luck to them both, but once a relationship goes bad, it doesn't get better in the long run. Sure you can try again, but in the long run the same problems come up. Who has known a couple who had major problems, ala filing for divorce, and then decided to make up and lived happily ever after?

glad things are working out, still nice to hear that JT and Zach are brotherinlaws
