News on QBs and Big Ears!!

It's not about the bills and jets. It's about finfans making fun of a former fin qb who could come back and beat your team. You guys say that AJ was horrible because he was in a bad system w/ a bad coaching staff. The same thing can be said about Jay and Wanny's offensive mind.

Jay had a all pro rb and a decent O line; Feeley had two 3rd string rbs and an O line that introduced themselves for the first in week 1. You can't get that one......

I think that whole thing is overrated. Yes, Fiedler won games but it wasn't because he made the big plays. With our defense and Ricky Williams, he didn't have to make the big plays because he was always in a good position. When asked to make big plays, he'd fall on his face. He does have some great games (the Oakland '02 game where he won it as time expired, the Thanksgiving game where he torched the #1 defense for 3 TD's and rushed for 1) but he's not a "winner". Tom Brady's a winner, Joe Montana was a winner, Fiedler is not a winner. He benefitted from being on a good team, kind of like Kyle Boller.

Jay won the division and made the playoffs w/ Lamar Smith being the most talented guy on O, he missed the playoffs w/ the all-pro RB in '02 and the reason they didn't make the playoffs was b/c Jay was HURT and missed a bunch of games.

Feeley was a 3rd string QB in Philly behind Koy Detmer, that should tell you something.

The WCO is totally different from Norv's system. Fiedler can't throw deep but he should be able to make those 5-10 yds in the WCO.

Of course Fiedler is gonna play better. He wont have alot of pressure on him since he already knows that he is going to be the backup. Fiedler also can just hand the ball off to Martin to win the games if Chad is hurt. Under Wanny, no QB played great with the patheic offense he created.

He had Ricky for 2 years and the main reason you didn't make the playoffs in '02 was b/c Jay was hurt and missed a bunch of games. He took over in '00 w/ a team that was supposed to be bad after having lost JJ and #13 and he guided Miami to a division title. In '01 he led you to a WC berth despite lamar Smith being awful and having only a rookie Chris Chambers and 2 other mediocre WRs to throw to. Jay is not a #s guy and coming in after Marino he never got enough respect from te dolphin fans(just a note, I am not syaing this b/c he is a Jet it is something I have said for years).

Chad played that game w/ 1 arm. You still might have won but we would have had a much better chance if Chad was healthy. He couldn't throw at all after that injury, syupidly we left him in the game instead of bringing in Quincy earlier.
this isn't a bills jet's argument. We can beat you just like you can beat us. This is about your back-up qb giving his former team a beating. Relax. ;)

I know but that game still annoys me that we left Chad in there when he couldn't throw. he should have been taken out at the half, again I don't know if we would have won but we would have had a better chance then again we seem to struggle whenever we go to Buffalo just like you guys struggle here. Back to the topic :D

I think i will speak for all the fin fans here and say , what in heck do you mean jay fiedler will come back to haunt us , he already haunts us ! as far as better talent around him now ? are you jets fans insane chris chambers ,david boston , and randy mcmichael are future pro bowlers . so this is about to be the best recieving corp in dolphin history. we were handicaped last year due to the wanny syndrome that should scare you clowns into beliving that with our new coach the

"the afc east arms race is on and the mighty dolphins will win the race in the long run . end of story" I now return you to your normal insanity

I am a bonafide Fiedler-hater. But I do believe that he has a chance to be good with the Jets. The reason being, the Jets run a west coast offense that doesn't require a QB having a gun for an arm. As long as the Dolphins were going to run a standard type of offense Fiedler was going to be a horrible QB for our team. His inability to threaten you with his arm would guarantee that defenses would stack the box. I personally am against the west coast offense in that I believe defenses have figured out how to stop it. Additionally, I find it boring to watch. This was my reason for hating Fiedler. I didn't want us to switch to a west coast offense, I wanted us to switch our QB and coach, which thankfully we did. Having said that, I do believe the Jets are a better fit for Fiedler

Well, actually I think he might end up being more of a thorn for your team then Miami. He has beaten your team too many times to count, while against Miami he will be going against a defense that knows his weakness, and how to rattle him.
its pretty hard to rattle fiedler hes been thru alot! not to mention seems like the ny fans are welcoming him with open arms

Coles has been to a Pro Bowl, Fiedler has more offensive talent around him now then he ever had in Miami and when he played the dolphins generally won while when he didn't you lost. He's not a #s guy but he finds ways to win(not last year as even Dan in his prime could not have won games w/ that group).

Frerrotte trending upward? Off that 0 for 1 line from his 2004 season? :D He was never good and his career is winding down.

So have Booker and Boston, and Chambers is thought of as the best of the three, so it does look like he will not have as much talent at receiver as Miami will, but he can always give it to Curtis for about 35-45 times (That should pretty much finish Curtis's season and maybe career), and considering your team has a porcelain Doll for a starting QB, Fiedler should be your starter by week one (week 3 at the latest).

Should be fun to watch the Feidler factor hit your team, with an inferior defense that will not keep games close for him, like he had in Miami. :D

No. Your D beat us despite Fiedler. If we can beat the jet's w/ Chad, we can beat them with Fiedler. When Griese came in 2 years ago, finfans were saying either Brian or Jay would make the best back-up qb. Now that Jay is no longer a fin, all of a sudden he sucks?

I agree that he was helped by Miami's defense, but considering who your team will have at QB this year, your team might have problems. Say all you want about the QBs Miami has, at least they have experience, and can handle starting a game. AJ almost single handedly beat your team, before he started throwing all those INTs, but if he had had a running game (Like he will this year), it would have been a different story.

Your team is the one that better be a bit scared of Fiedler, not us.

are you jets fans insane chris chambers ,david boston , and randy mcmichael are future pro bowlers .

McMichael may be but to call Chambers, a WR who does not even have a 1,000 yd season, a future PBer is a bit of a stretch and the steroid freak is an injury waiting to happen coming aoff a serious injury. By the way, I said Fiedler has more talent around him now then he ever had in Miami. Boston never played w/ Fiedler.

Should be fun to watch the Feidler factor hit your team, with an inferior defense that will not keep games close for him, like he had in Miami

Inferior defense? unlike your "great" D of the past decade our D was top 5 in the reg season AND did it in the postseason as well and our D is young and getting better.

Obviously I hope Fiedler never plays but if he does I think he's one of the best backups in the league.
