It is not as easy as just picking a coach. First the decision tree in the organization needs to be clearly established. Does Huzienga go back to Head Coach in charge of all football decisions,ala Shula, Johnson, and Wannstedt? Does he try to sell a new coach on this seeming equal division of responsibility between the GM and coach without either having authority over the other? Or will he decide that he needs a head of football operations type of manager to oversee both coaching,scouting,and personnel?
Does Spielman have the stuff to fill that kind of post? Will any head of operations be comfortable without his own hires under him?
These are the questions that Huzienga had trouble with last offseason. I feel he will have difficulty making a decision again after this season. That is why I do not put it past him to retain the front office in place again, unless the season goes so far south that any redemption is lost. I feel that Huzienga will give Wannstedt and Speilman every benefit of the doubt.
