Next Miami Dolphin

hes great don't get me wrong. hes a special talent but hes not what we need. we need to draft defense and sign a wr in FA. we need a proven talent not another unproven rookie

Nothing against Bryant but don't think the FO will take a WR in the 1st round. I think if we go O in the 1st round it will be Spiller. The FO will trade Brown for a 2nd and take Spilller for his speed and he could line up and catch passes for us. He also threw the ball while in college as well. Spiller for the Wildcat????

You have to take in to account by time Bryant gets to camp he will have been out of football for a very long time. That will most likely mean his chance to make a impact next year is a long shot.

Just look at the way the he jumps and snatches the ball in the air and also the way he jumps on the DBs. you can tell he's going a beast. We dont have a # 1 nor # 2 receiver and we wont be able to find this kind of class without loosing a couple of picks!

It's not like the guy has been sitting at home eating potato chips all day long. I guarantee the guy has been busting his butt every day so he can impress the scouts and improve his draft stock.

I think the opposite. I think we should look to FA to fill our NT, LB and FS needs (Vince Wilfork, Casey Hampton, Thomas Howard, Derrick Johnson, Antrel Rolle, OJ Otogwe, Nick Collins, etc.) and then fill WR, RB and TE in the draft.

In FA/RFA...

Mashall and Austin will cost a 1st and 3rd.
Boldin will cost close that.
TO won't cost picks but a stop-gap only.
Malcolm Floyd and others are not true WR1s.

Nah...we should be targeting Dez Bryant at 1.12 and be trilled if he's there.

In fact, if we could trade Ginn to a team ahead of the Broncos at 11, to jump ahead of DEN for Dez Brant, I'd be all for that.

Something like...

1.St.Louis Rams:Jimmy Clauson QB, Notre Dame*
2.Detroit Lions:Ndamukong Suh DT, Nebraska
3.Tampa Bay Buccaneers:Gerald McCoy DT, Oklahoma*
4.Washington Redskins:Russell Okung OT, Oklahoma State
5.Kansas City Chiefs:Eric Berry S, Tennessee*
6.Seattle Seahawks:Joe Haden CB, Florida*
7.Cleveland Browns: Rolando McClain ILB, Alabama*

*****Trade: Dolphins get OAK pick 1.08. Raiders get MIA pick 1.12 plus WR Ted Ginn, Jr.*****

8.Miami Dolphins (from Oak): Dez Bryant WR, Oklahoma State*
9.Buffalo Bills:Trent Williams OT, Oklahoma
10.Jacksonville Jaguars: Derrick Morgan DE, Georgia Tech*
11.Denver Broncos(from Chi): Dan Williams DT, Tennessee
12.Oakland Raiders (from Mia): Sam Bradford QB, Oklahoma* (OAK may use uncapped year to cut Jamarcus)

A lot of mock drafts have DEN taking Dez one pick ahead of us b/c they assume Broncos trade Marshall this offseason. This move to jump DEN ensures us we get our WR1.

I think Dez Brant should come in and look like and play like a WR1 right away for us ala Michael Crabtree for SF last year (but without the holdout).

And/or if we miss out on Dez Bryant, then we draft CJ Spiller as our playmaker1. A traditional WR1 is more what we want but you can also try Spiller as a weapon1 for the offense and just hope that Spiller end up more like Chris Johnson than Reggie Bush.

You don't go defense if he's the BPA. I don't see there being a better talent at #12 unless somehow McClain is there.

I'm all for taking Spiller if Bryant is gone. That is of course if McClain and other great defense prospects aren't there.

Great post. Vince should have been a Dolphin the year he was drafted but would still look great now in a Dolphin uni. The only draft pics the Fins should be giving up are for draft players or as leverage to move up/down. Ufa's are the way to go to fill our needs during free agency. And there's plenty of good ones on defense.

really??? wow...that's so far off it's not funny

hell...michael crabtree missed the first half the season almost in a contract dispute and still was a major contributor for the 49ers...

and bryant hasn't missed any nfl camp...yet
