This will be my final mock draft until the day before the draft. I will only do a Fins mock
1.Jake Long OT, Michigan I still think it's 50-50 on whether or not we pick Jake Long, but if we don't it's Chris Long. 1 month ago, I would say take Chris because the depth of OLs in this draft was so good, we could get a quality guy in round 2. Unfortunatly, the 2 main guys I thought we'd get in Round 2 (Chris Williams and Brendan Albert) are probably not making it out of the top 20, and I am not a huge fan of either Sam Baker or Carl Nicks. Jake Long is not an Orlando Pace caliber prospect, but no OT in recent years has been. Fact is, he's the best OT in the draft, and we need an OT, why wait for one later when you've got a guy staring you in the face now?
2a.Curtis Lofton ILB, Oklahoma I know everybody is screaming for Queintin Groves, but I highly doubt he makes it to pick 32 with the offseason he is having (if he does, we take him). But we need some ILBs to play 3-4 eventually. Even if we don't play the 3-4 next year, we have zero MLBs on our roster now (I prefer Crowder outside). I'd actually love to see us get Jerrod Mayo, but it's looking less likely that that will happen, but Lofton is a nice consolation.
2b.Charles Godfrey CB, Iowa Sadly, or Ironically (whichever way you look at it) My first 3 picks match those of NFL Draft Countdown. To be different, I'd love to go in a different direction, but Godfrey is the ideal CB for a Bill Parcells team. Decent size, fast, and physical. The only other CB that could be available that matches those qualities is Tracy Porter (whom I also like).
3.Jeremy Zuttah OG/C, Rutgers A guy we've been in constant contact with all offseason. Played OT and OG at Rutgers but also projects very well to center. Could step in at Guard, or allow Satale to move to guard where is pulling ability would help more. Also, it adds another Jersey boy to the team.
4.Brian Johnston DE, Gardner-Webb Another guy we've had a lot of contact with. Projects very well to both a 3-4 and a 4-3. Plus, Parcells loves small school guys.
6a.Caleb Campbell S, Army Yet another guy we've been all over. Skill wise, he deserves to go a lot higher, but he won't. We currently have several safeties on our roster, but it would not suprise me to see Campbell not only make the team, but earn a starting job.
6b.Jacob Tamme TE/H-Back, Kentucky Will fall a lot more than he should due to his size. Here is another guy I could see being a late round pick having a huge impact on the team.
7a.Ryan Grice-Mullen WR, Hawaii Highly productive college WR, that could become a very good slot WR in the NFL down the road.
7b.Maurice Murray DT, New Mexico State big DT that could develop into a NT down the road.
