This really stinks because my heart is torn. I want the Dolphins to win because I want the players to end the season on a positive note. Beat a team that has been one of the best teams of the decade.

I also want us to lose pretty badly.

I also wanted us to lose against the Texans once I realized we have no shot at doing anything this year.

I looked at the difference in the standings. If we lose against the steelers, we possibly have the 11th pick in the draft. If we win, we might end up with the 22nd pick in the draft.

That's a HUGE difference and one that really is important for rebuilding. Think about our 2nd round pick as well...that could be a very nice addition.

So if we win, I'm happy but if we lose I'm pretty happy about it as well.

If the team wins I'll enjoy it. If they don't and the Steelers win the SB again, I'll be jumping out of a window shortly thereafter.

Nah I want the Fins to win . . . fk the draft. This is the defending champions in your house looking not to be eliminated.

WE gotta get up for that.

The game aside, i would love to have the 11th pick over the 22nd. It's been a tough year, what an emotional rollercoaster.

i think we have to look at the big picture here and a loss does us more good..it could be a big difference in draft order which could mean a chance at a better player or a better pick if we want to trade it for a player i.e give up our 2nd round pick for anquan boldin..

How do u guys sound?

U want the Dolphins to lose? Gimme a break . . . nothing would be sweeter than to ensure Pittsburgh not getting into the playoffs.

That fact that we still have a tiny tiny chance to make the playoffs is icing on the cake.

And with the new draft rules, I am pretty positive that the 12 playoff teams are ensured picks 21-32 . . . so at worst, we would have the 20th pick.

doing it to the jets or pats would be sweeter in my opinion.

It was tough for Henne to climb out of the 0-3 hole that Pennington put us in. I'd like a good effort against Pittsburg but I don't think we have the firepower to get the win. Ronnie and Ferguson injuries really hurt when you look at this weak linebacking corp.

the NFL really wants the Steelers in the playoffs

It's pretty amazing that we're actually competing considering everything this team has been through.

The starting positions that wont play next week are:

QB
RB
C
NT
LB
CB

Pretty important positions and I don't know too many other teams that could still possibly make the playoffs if they lost their starting players in those positions.

In the end, that was the story of this season . . . when we lost Fergy, Ronnie and Will . . . that crippled our season and chances. Yea we have some nice young players in there . . . but we missed those 3 guys more than anything.

To the ones that want to take the better draft pick: You do realize that just because we have a good low pick, nothing is guaranteed right? The guy could turn out to be a huge bust, or worse, have a career-ending injury early on. Then what? We still lost the Steeler's game and end the season on a bad note, at home. You guys are crazy.

and we would have to invest more money into a non guarenteed product.

but it's not just the 1st round where you get the benfit. The difference is huge in the 2nd and 3rd round as well.

A lot of talent to be had in the later rounds and having the 40th pick in the 2nd round could be a very nice addition.

Not saying I'm rooting for them to lose..I know I'm going to be just as furious as I was yesterday but this is what I tell myself to make me feel better about losing.

That really is a huge difference in draft position when you think about it but those positions aren't guaranteed either. Idk the tie breaker procedures for draft position but just going off of records the Phins at 7-9 could pick anywhere from 11th to 15th if certain teams win or lose next week, and with a win getting to 8-8 they could be picking anywhere from 11th to 20th, so we don't know what the real difference would be between and win and a loss. One thing I do know for sure though is that these players want to win the game reguardless of what the standing or draft implications are.
