look guys everyone was so high on the dolphins then we all gut a reality check when we went 0-2 and then we struggle to win against the titans to go to 1-2. Daunte is gonna take some time to adjusted to the new system and with his knee. here are three reasons why next year is our year, also i want to say that i dont think that this season is we still have a chance and the season is still young

1. Ricky Williams- i think we took having two solid backs for granted last year and you can really see how much success that teams are having with the two back system. I believe Ricky is just as important to this team as ronnie is production wise. when ricky was coming into the zone last season he was a force to be reckoned with

2. 3 Year Rule- The defense will be in its third year which means that they will truly understand this complex defense. All our 1st and 2nd year defensive players will be better such as j. allen, daniels, chrowder, roth and so on.

3- oline/free agency- i believe the dolphins will make a strong push in free agency this year bryant mckinnie says that he likes miami and i think that there is a good possiblity of us being able to land him. he would be a huge time pick up and our o line would benefit greatly. also i know this is a homer pick but i think some by the name of randy moss might be mentioned somtime during this offseason

i know some of you are not going to agree with me feel free to express your opinions as i am interesten in yall thoughts on this and one more thing GO DOLPHINS!!!!!!!:dolphins:

Man, I'm tired of hearing that next year is our year. I want a Championship NOW!!!!!!!

Really, no disrespect but enough with the next year is our year hype. My God all summer long all we heard was how this year was our year. To be honest we are about 5 years away and frankly last year we were one year closer than this year. And for the life of me I cant figure out how Nick pulled that off. How did we lose better players than we got? Even Jr. Seau looked good for the patsies on Sunday and we had him too.

Our defense will be one year older, which is not a good thing...I'm pretty sure whacking wide receivers with your cane is considered unsportsmanlike. lol

Exactly...we are not the Chicago Cubs. I am tired of the Next Year crowd....this is our year now.

I think the Fins still have a chance at this year. I think they will improve as every week goes by.

Go Fins!:dolphins:

Too many holes, too little time. We are a long ways away.

Ok, while I agree we may be better next year, I don't think its time to think we still can't do it this year. One thing I would absolutely love is if Randy Moss did come. Chambers and Moss...... Mention them together on the same team and I am getting chills down my spine. WOW. I hope it happens!

i know i agree with you guys that every year is our year but u guys have to remember that that we installed two totally new systems on offense and on defense and it takes time for coaches to find players that fit their specific system. how many first our second year coaches make the superbowl not very often. it takes time this team has gone through a total overhall from two year ago. we have plenty of talent on the offense and once they gell we will be fine on defense we have young stars in the making in chrowder, daniels maybe j allen. all i am saying is give it time we will continue to get better with each week and each loss will only makes us realize the things that need to get improved upon.

phish, your statement is lucid, compelling, heartfelt, uplifting, well thought out, and fresh. let me also say that it's great to see that someone like you is out there rooting on the 'aqua&orange' every week. however, let me also impart that it helps that you're 18 AND HAVE THE GREATER PART OF THE EARLY 21ST CENTURY TO CONTINUE WAITING FOR THIS TEAM TO GET OFF ITS COLLECTIVE ARSE AND WIN A D**N CHAMPIONSHIP!!! unfortunately i, like so many of my phin brethren, have been stompin, cryin and losin my nut since Sep of '66...and '73 seems a lifetime ago...but, good for you young man; keep carrying our SoFla torch...(word to the wise...that sucker's heavy, and it gets real hot after holding it up for a few decades...!)

That kinda hurts coming for a Dolphins fan who is also a Cubs fan. People can lay off the Cubs. They haven't done anything to anybody in quite a long time.

I agree that next year we should be better, specially if we sign a TOP Guard, Ricky comes back (there is a reason why Takeo Spikes only problem was stopping him!)I like Ronnie Brown but if another top RB is available for nothing why not taking him back.

I will bet that with a TOP guard and Ricky should be enough to see our offense very improved. After this year Saban will either decide to keep Harrington (starting him) and cut Culpepper, or keep Daunte and if he cannot convince Harrington to stay as a backup with a lower salary cap, then trade/cut him.

But the BIG problem I see is DEFENSE, we are not only getting old on D, but I think our players are not ideal for the defensive schemes we are using, and either Saban changes his schemes to make them adapt to the players or he just get rid of them and draft defense all the way long.

What I don't understand is why Saban uses Zach to blitz, Jason as a LB, Holliday as a DT, Tillman as a SS. We should be pretty good on defense with a 4-3 using Big Daddy and Traylor with Evans and Vickerson alternating for experience (remember what Thomas and Taylor did with Bowens/Gardener/Chester?) and Taylor, Bowens, Carter and Holliday as DE. (cause that is what they are!). On the secondary I would use Allen and Goodman with (Maybe Jason Allen as a Nickelback because he has very good speed) Daniels alternating with Hill and Bell instead of Tillman. And why did we sign Newman (wasn't he good at blitzing???). After seeing our safeties playing I think Saban should give Cooper a second chance, because he hits hard!

Is just my opinion because like others, I would really want to see our team winning NOW!!!!!!!

i respect you johngarry you have been holding for the torch for a long time and let me assure you its in good hands. i just miss the times when the dolphins were a team to be messed with. you knew that they had the ability to win every week. i miss the games like the indy game in the first round of the playoffs then denver night game with fiedler and his broken thumb. i really think next year with ricky back and daunte feeling the system we will see a big improvement
