Miami allowed 827 rushing yards to the NFC North:

164 to Chicago
248 to Detroit
195 to Green Bay
and of course 220 to Minnesota today.

The Dolphins somehow went 1-3 against them. Lol the defense needs a total reset starting with Burke this offseason.
 
Burke's scheme sucks and the team as a whole plays soft. I would love to change the philosophies on both sides. You can be smart and innovative without being finesse and soft.

I think losing Vincent Taylor was bigger than most people realize. The guy was a monster against the run and he was only getting better. Hope he comes back healthy and keeps improving next year.
 
Cut back running and misdirection expose this defense, because the scheme (at least to my eyes) is based on over aggressiveness and has no gap discipline. Our linebackers over persue and crash the line, but are always blocked out of place when the runner cuts back. It’s like the scheme is designed for the safeties to stop the run. Throw in a complete lack of pass rush and a secondary that becomes completely hapless when Howard is out, and you have disaster.

We are worried about specialized DL packages and rotations to try to get favorable matchups on the line which gets completely mitigated with an injury or two. Just get some tough DL across the board, or physical teams will dominate us, as they have now for years.
