The new policy takes effect immediately, which is where an adjustment to the previously issued suspensions comes in to play. If the new policy is the 2014 policy, the players already suspended by the league should fall under the new rules, not the 2013 and older set of testing policies.

For the Miami Dolphins, that means safety Reshad Jones and defensive end Dion Jordan are now back with the team and eligible to play. Both players had been suspended for four games under the league's performance enhancing drug policy; both players suggested that whatever caused the positive test was part of a supplement they took without checking with team doctors.

note: the Miami Herald also reprted that Jordan and Jones will return early, but it is a fee based article

While I doubt they will play this weekend vs the Bills, for being too far behind gameplan-wise, I will look forward to having another potent passrusher to use against that weak Chiefs O-Line. I'm predicting at least 5 sacks for our phins...

Hell yeah, now can we get a statement from the team whether they are gonna play or not???

note: the Miami Herald reported this also, but it's a fee based article:

Just as heads up, those articles are only fee based because of the cookies they set that let the site know you have read the number of free articles they allow. Close the page and clear the cookies left by that site, or even better yet, clear them and then set your browser to not accept cookies from miamiherald.com, sun-sentinal.com, or any other site that limits how much you can read before it requires payment and you should be all set. On the Miami Herald, a message pops up telling you to re-enable your cookies, but you can just close it out and keep reading.

So who are the 2 players released ?

Biggest reason we probably will not see Jones and Jordan this week. We would have to cut a couple of guys who were already involved in preparation and part of the planning for this week.

Only 46 get to play. Maybe there are 2 of the other 7 who were earmarked to be cut.
Jones could be handy depth and allow Jimmy to go back to his better position of playing the nickel back.

I would play both. I am sure they had Sheppard as a guy playing. Not sure I would play him over our experienced guys.

They can get these guys up to speed overnight.

According to PFT it's not a done deal yet.

On Friday night, the NFLPA announced that its board of player representatives had approved a new, comprehensive drug policy. On Saturday morning, both the league and the union have said that the new drug policy isn’t finalized yet.

The NFLPA said it expects to have info on "adjusted discipline" for players recently suspended for violating old drug policy "very soon.”"

As per ESPN, an agreement has not been reached, and there are unresolved issues on suspended players.

i would go with Darkwa and Gaston as potential cuts. Or Fox and Gaston

If reinstated I don't see why they both wouldn't play immediately. Both played preseason, the scheme is the same, Jones is clearly superior to Wilson, Jordan is a package guy right now anyway. Of the two I really want Jones back.
