NFL Bans 3 Dolphins players from playing in Poker Tournement

AJ Francis is going to end up needing to save all of that Uber money anyway.

That really is BS. Poker has NOTHING to do with gambling on sports. And the NFL and their partners are making MINT on Daily Fantasy Football sponsorships now which is essentially the same thing as gambling. Hypocrites.

Fairly innocent stuff, but apparently the NFL believes this is ruining the integrity of the league apparently. Even though some teams have promoted lotteries. Or daily fantasy football. And the New Orleans Saints hold training camp at a West Virginia resort that has a casino. But the players better not do anything like promote an appearance at a poker tournament.

You'd think the NFL has better things to worry about, but until then, don't promote any casino events. Unless your team is having training camp at one, I guess.

Yes THIS is the big problem the NFL is facing as far as integrity :bobdole:

Yet Robert Kraft can be a welcomed guest at any casino or resort as the owner of the Cheatriots.
Seems kind of petty by the league.

If the players were waging on football games that would be a problem but just playing poker in a legal setting should not be a concern or any business of the NFL. JMO

Yet Brady, Rodgers, Welker, etc are seen annualy at the Kentucky Derby and lets all play stupid and pretend they dont place bets right?

Didn't Michael Jordan bet on just about everything as an NBA player? The NFL has some of the dumbest rules, and is overstepping it's bounds here.

It was rumored for some time Jordan almost went bankrupt and was in deep with the Vegas mob/bookies in debt for millions.

I don't know if it's true but I heard MJ's dad was murdered over his gambling debts.

I think this and the Romo thing are mostly reactions to the FIFA scandals. Fins players have been participating in these events for a few years now. This is not new.

I'm glad the NFL notifies them ahead of time rather than discipline them after the event.

Let's not kid a kidder.. the weekly injury reports are more for the benefit of the gaming industry than they are for opposing teams.
