Every year there are coaches that have good rosters, but under acheive. Every year you can look to a few coaches and say, they may be on their way out the door if they fail. This season will see less casualties IMO due to all the coaches in the NFL.

Here is a list I have compiled of coaches that should be concerned for their jobs if they don't get it done this year.

Brian Billick (Baltimore)- Billick may have gone through injuries, players facing criminal charges and poor quarterback play, but I think this is his last shot to get it done with the Ravens. People are making a big deal out of the Ravens off-season and another losing season could send coach out the door.
Jeff Fisher (Tennesee)- McNair is out, insert Volek. Not always a good transistion but do you give him time to see if Vince Young turns out. The Titans have certainly fallen off the map lately and may need a change at the top to right the ship.
Jim Mora Jr. (Atlanta)- Has always seemed like a solid coach, but how long are they giving him to get Michael Vick going? While I place much of the blame on Vick, some may direct it towards Mora. It seems like so long again when the Falcons were playing for the NFC title in 2004. Nonetheless, the Falcons vastly underachieved in 2005 and a repeat performance in 2006, could be the end of his tenure in Hotlanta.
Mike Nolan (San Fransisco)- You can't expect much out of a man who is given no weapons on offense, and at best, an average defense. But Nolan wasn't able to push Alex Smith along in his devolpement in his rookie season and could be looking at a potential first overall bust. I don't think he deserves the door if the 49ers compile another 3 win season, but the coaching business is a cruel one.

There could be others but like I mentioned earlier, there are a lot of new coaches who will get at least 2 years.

My suprise picks could be Tony Dungy, who has failed miserablly with his team in the playoffs in recent years. Marty Schotenheimer has never seen eye to eye with G.M, A.J Smith, and it hurts when your team was considerd the best team to ever miss the playoffs. With Rivers in and Brees out, could his tenure in sunny San Diego be over? I know it sounds crazy, but if the Cowboys miss the playoffs in 2006, does Bill Parcells deserve to be fired? It's hard to dismiss a coach with his history but they really need to make some noise this year.

Well, that's all I have for now, if you'd like to add any to the list please do so. Thanks guys.

How the hell is Tony Dungy and Bill Parcells on this list? Seriously, this must be the worst list I have ever seen.

I voted for Marty..............he and the GM are on the outs and if they miss the playoffs, it's almost a certainty that he's gone.

I voted for Jim Mora. Arthur Blank set Mike Vick's career back two years by firing Dan Reeves. Greg Knapp the Falcons OC is Vick's Bane.

JR showed his true colours last year by using his cell phone during overtime because he was unprepared. After the game he lost his rag and threw his head set at a sideline reporter because he didn't want to answer the tough questions.

This guy would be shreaded wheat if he coached in NY instead of Atlanta.

Well maybe if you read it, you will see that I don't believe they are but are on my could be suprise firings list. Who else would you put on the list? Good input though Mike, you really contribute to this thread. Ridiculous. :shakeno:

Its either Fisher or Billick. i voted for Fisher because Billick did win a SB.

Fisher almost lost his job last season, and i dont see their team getting any better any time soon.

Billick sucks but if Mcnair plays well, that may buy him a few more seasons as HC.

EDIT: Why even list Dungy? so his team didnt win the SB, so what... he still has his team in contention ever year and is widly regarded as a great coach. he is probubly the HC farthest from being fired.

It has to be Billick. Has not done anything aside from when Jamal Lewsi ran for 2000 yards. If the Titans show signifigant improvement than Fischer is stayin put. Give them another year and they could be dangerous.

I vote for Billick. If the Ravens dont live up to the hype he is as good as gone.

Its Brian Billicks job to lose!! HE has a decent QB in Mcnair and Goood WRS!!

His D is good Not the best and JAmal should be back in form!! No reason to have a losing season

Well if you're going to put a guy like Dungy on your list (who I, too believe is safe) then IMO you ought to include Coughlin and Shanahan. In NY and Denver expectations are higher than just making the playoffs.

I think Parcells was a good pick to put on here, and I voted for him. What is this now, his 4th season as head coach for Dallas. And with Jerry Jones past record, I feel like if Parcells doesn't do something this year, he is as good as gone. Heck, Jerry Jones fired JJ after he won a Super Bowl. Bill Parcells job is on the bubble, he better produce this year.

You really are right. Good point, now that I think about it, I reall should have left off Dungy. My list was just looking thin and he was one of the few I could think off because of how TERRIBLE his team has been in the playoffs. Teams do fire coaches based on that, look at the Minnesota Timerbwolves who were always in the post season but they fired Flip Saunders.

I think Billick is on the hot seat! Him and Fisher but I put Billick because Fisher is such a great coach and the organization should realize that there not giving him the talent to compete in the NFL!
