All-Pros: Robert Quinn, Cameron Wake, Aldon Smith, Robert Mathis, DeMarcus Ware, Clay Matthews

Quinn's speed ranks with the early-career versions of Jevon Kearse and Dwight Freeney as the best we've witnessed from a defensive end. He and Mathis are masters of the strip sack, combining for 17 forced fumbles last season. As Gregg Rosenthal recently pointed out, Wake might be the NFL's best pass rusher since the start of the 2010 season. His should be a household name.
Smith might be on the sidelines with a suspension once the season kicks off, but it's hard to find fault with his on-field work. He's averaged a sack per game since entering the league in 2012. Mathis was a Defensive Player of the Year finalist last season at age 32. That bodes well for Ware's bounce-back prospects at age 31. Before a nagging quadriceps injury rendered him ineffective, Ware still displayed his trademark lightning-quick first step early last season.
Matthews' effectiveness waned last season while playing through a thumb injury. He has Defensive Player of the Year potential in a revamped and suddenly loaded Packers defense.

Wake Ranked Top Edge Rusher In AFC By NFL.com

Cameron Wake‘s abilities as an edge rusher are well known throughout the NFL. Wake wasn’t a superstar name, or even a notable name by any stretch, when he originally entered the NFL in 2005. In fact, he didn’t garner any attention at all, going undrafted and being released by the team that signed him in the New York Giants.

He blossomed after a two-year stop in the Canadian Football League and then a contract with the Miami Dolphins in 2009. His 51.5 sacks through five seasons, an AP All-Pro nod in 2012, along with three Pro Bowl trips – including one coming last season - and Wake is getting well deserved recognition. He’s produced on the national stage for Miami countless times, most recently with a game ending safety against the Cincinnati Bengals to give the Dolphins a victory on Thursday Night Football on Halloween night last season.

Wake's knee injury last year definitely took something out of his ability to consistency get around that edge with explosion. If our line stays healthy this year, it's going to be an exciting thing to watch.

The only negative on Wake is he his entering the twilight of his career at the age of 32. Glad he is getting the recognition he deserves through the hard work he put in.
