NFL.com Article

One interesting part of the article that kinda jumped out at me, is looking back at the Vontae trade, it is pretty clear to see that was the turning point in the season. Up until that time we were in disarray. We were horrible on the field and just as bad off in the locker room. Most had doubts if Philbin was the man for the job. But Philbin/Ireland sending a message to the team that this team wasn't going to be about talent, but about effort, was recieved loud and clear. Vontae's talent was unmistakable, but his effort was unacceptable, the solution?? Get what you can for him and go with players that are coachable and want to be here. Players started responding and working together, they stopped all the complaining, and buckled down and got to work. The result?? A real team, a team that plays for each other, that trust each other, a team that refuses to let each other down, and a team where the offense plays for the defense and the defense plays for the offense. A team that can win tight games late.

Some times SAYING you expect a certain level of commitment just isn't enough, some times you have to PROVE it.
