2. At 3-7, the Cowboys are only two games out of the NFC East lead. Their chances can't completely be discounted in the division if their defense continues to play like this. Miami only had nine first downs in the entire game.
Ryan Tannehill had 13 yards in the first 29 minutes and theDolphins couldn't sustain their offense the whole game. Rolando McClain's pick-six typified a great outing from theCowboys' linebacker group, led by McClain and Sean Lee.

3. Don't pin this game on Ndamukong Suh or the Dolphins' defensive line. Suh and Olivier Vernondominated the vaunted Cowboys front for much of the game, especially when Romo went back to pass. The Cowboys smartly focused on the run game in the fourth quarter, and the Dolphins' defense was gassed after being on the field for more than 90 plays last week. Dallas ran 27 more plays than the Dolphins.

That'll be correct.....

The imbalance between plays for O and D is hurting us on a weekly basis. Sometimes we get away with it, but games like yesterday happen way too often, Suh must be thinking what the hell did he sign up for (then looks at his bank account and says, who gives a **** :) ).

Which makes the punt on 4th and 6 more maddening.

There is no way you can legit throw your defense back out there in that situation. That front 4 played their butts off the last 2 weeks . . . offense has gotta sustain drives. Certainly if you don't make it your defense goes back anyway, but you need 2 scores and a stop in both situations . . . the only thing the punt does is give you field position, but who cares at that point . . . you need points.

Campbell's emotion and getting rid of Philbin/Coyle was ALWAYS the right thing to do . . . . but clearly we need a coach with more experience next season, Campbell is not that guy, although I'd love for him to stick around as the TE coach. That unit has regressed w/o him.

dallas did what they should have done the entire game in the 4th quarter...ride that running game and expose our lbs...

I agree on the 4th and 6 with 10 down. Even a rookie coach cannot make that mistake.

Lazor won't stick with the run so few drives are sustained. And, it doesn't help when it's 3rd and 9 and the pass is behind the line of scrimmage!

Why is Lazor still the Offensive Coordinator?????????

The LB's were exposed because they were out on the field all game with the offense being terrible esp in the 4th quarter.

In the end the defense gave up 17 points. That should have been good enough to win.

I think that's one of the things that sucks in this situation. Campbell is clearly a guy you want to retain in some capacity within this organization. But how? You gotta figure he's not going to get the long term gig. So what happens with a new regime?

Gee, this can't be true....our front four actually dominated the Cowboys offensive line and pressured Romo relentlessly???

This should be all everyone who claims that Tannehill just needs a better line needs to read. This Cowboys line is the best in football, and still Romo was under duress. Tannehill is never going to have a line that keeps him clean all day, every day. So everyone who is throwing out that nonsense should just stop.

the lb level should have been murdered off pa and misdirection...but dallas didn't go that route when they had it in their back pocket the entire game...they let romo get hit til they decided in the 4th quarter to go to the obvious option

they just did it the hard way for 3 quarters

I cannot agree more.
The ironic part is that on the concourse they play the radio broadcast. As I was walking back to the seat at halftime I overheard the halftime analysis with that sentence: Dolphins have to create more offense or the defense will be exhausted and tired very quickly.

It is very easy to say 'the defense cost us the game' when you look at the 4th quarter but we have to take under consideration that our offense did not create anything on offense even made the life of the defense harder by throwing a pick 6 early on.

This team plays ZERO complimentary football.

The offense ties it up and they give up a TD.

I was thinking about that this morning. I like Campbell but that punt called ended my cheering for him. That being said, assuming a new coach comes in, would Campbell be retained? The team hiring someone else is a direct message to Campbell that he isn't good enough to be the HC so why would he want to stay?

Been that way for the last few years at minimum.

Lazor will be back in college at the end of the year. Which I believe is where he belongs. Each time we did something right on offense, it was immediately pissed on by penalties. Throw that in with McClain making stops left and right, and their defense shut us down completely. Folks are too over invested on both sides of the QB question and lack a real knowledge of what is going on in the meeting room. The articles this week uncovered very little other than fueling fan fires for hatred at both the OC and QB.
