NFL.com: Dolphins Fans Now Crazy for GM Jeff Ireland

32% of the fan base is not that embarrassing.

Nubs defending the local Miami fans ? Now i've seen everything :thanks:

The positive vibs are great. Put a good product on the field and the fans will follow.

I thought that the protesting was an overreaction but I didn't bash those who felt it was necessary. Jury is still out on the guy though.

omg an unproven QB and some UM players! omg omg omg. the dude is solid. period. who cares what the paper bag heads think.

LOL "Alleged good draft!!"

Better keep that tar simmering ... have a hunch we're gonna need it!! Nothing's changed, YET!! We shall see!!

I am grateful for a QB prospect though!! Hope that works out ... then I think I can turn my tar off ... even below the .500 Mendoza Line!!

 Let's not get crazy. I'll be the first to admit that he had a very good draft. He finally addressed the most important position in football. However, there's a tad bit more to being a good GM. The draft is just the first step. Let's see if he can handle FA better and become more proactive rather than reactive in handling the roster. I truly hope he can. It would be nice to not have to shuffle more **** out of Miami.

That was very deep, I think you just helped him make his point.

lol, good one! Don't worry the first time Tanny throws a INT and say RG3 throws a TD he will be relegated to most hated GM again.

What a bunch of idiots we have as a fan base..Embarrassing!
Man, you must really hate going to games and having to deal with them. Damn near every one of your posts is a whiny rant about the fans. Guess what, we didn't make this team a perennial loser over the past 12 or so years. Redirect your anger to where it belongs.

How can a team justify having the #1 draft pick in 2008 with 9 draft picks
and ONLY have 1 player on the team left from that draft ?

The players from that draft should be the stability and playmakers of today

The same goes for our draft in 2009

We have a very good cb in Davis
We have 3 turnovers in 3 years from the other cb
and we have 1td in the last 26 games for Hartline

Turner,White,Folsom,Gardner,Nalbone,Clemons...all are gone or deserve to be gone

18 draft picks and we have Long,Davis,Smith,Hartline

Those two seasons we should have been stacking this team with talent and playmakers
and honestly look what we have from those two drafts

This could all be on Parcells but we'll never know, either way it was 2 years of pis poor drafting
Lets see how the last 2 drafts progress before we finalize judgement on Ireland

I'm not too comfortable with the thought that you may have a shrine setup in my posting honor, creepy! However, you are right i think most fans are whiny, live in a fantasy world and are terribly misinformed.Further many seems to think that they can do a far better job because they read articles on NFL.com and Finheaven. I would never claim to be an expert but I'm pretty sure their are tons of stuff that goes on in the background that effects many things in the foreground.

actually we already know. it was parcels. so ask him.

I'm not sure I can say this correctly.

There are a lot of people in a lot of positions in a lot of areas that should be expected to do their job at at certain level.

I EXPECT a GM to draft well. We did not "find" any gems in this draft as far as we know. OTHER teams passed over them. Lamar Miller was there in the 4th round because no other team drafted him. This is just a example but us taking Lamar Miller or resigning Cam Wake was a very basic thing. A lot of the posters from here could of done the same thing.

You cannot give credit to anyone that is experienced and well paid because he is not a idiot. I expect a sales manager to do his job, I expect a waiter to do his job. I expect a guy that mows lawns to do his job.

Sometimes you meet someone who is extra good at his job and that is a plus But I really expect everyone to do a decent job. I expect a running back to get a certain YPC average. I expect a WR to catch a pass that hits his hands.

Jeff Ireland took the QB in the 1st round that 95% of all mock drafts said we would. I give him zero credit for that.

I do give him and Philbin a little credit for taking the best RT in the 2nd round even though even a simple minded fan like myself knew that it was the player this team needed.

And having Philbin and Sherman here begs the question. Did Ireland no make a mistake already that all of us can see because Parchells and Sparano are gone or because our new coaches are here? Just how much input does Ireland take? Did he funked up alone or was he forced to do stupid things?

Is Ross learning not to be a complete idiot? Did that thelp?

I'm guessing you don't see what's funny about that statement, besides it not being close to what I said of course.

And how are the fans misinformed? Were we actually contenders during the past decade and nobody noticed? Whatever was going on in the background clearly wasn't working. Didn't take fans being geniuses to realize that. Look, you want to be blindly loyal to ****ty football, by all means. The rest of us had every right to be tired of **** football from a once great franchise and actually want something done about it.

People are entitled to their opinions about what the best route for the team is. Deal with it.

i'll give ireland credit for owning the picks he made in this draft...he's owned the tannehill pick...not tried to say anything like it was philbin or shermans guy...and bottom line is if tannehill doesn't pan out ireland should walk the plank for it...if you're gonna own it and stand behind it and say it was "my guy" you should be ready to be held responsible...

hell he's talked about this draft like he hit it out of the park...let's see it now...honestly though he could fail on every other pick and if the qb one turns out to be gold this is still a fantastic draft...it all hinges on tannehill

But that was the easy pick. Everyone in the world said that was who we should draft. Everyone said that is who we were going to pick. I did not consider it a bold statement. In fact, Ireland had no choice but to take Tannehill. He was boxed in. If he did not take Tannehill he would be in the witness protection program right now, lol.

he was boxed in...no doubt...keep in mind though that was through his own doing...he had options he passed...but there were plenty of people on here saying we'd just roll with matt moore and garrard or take brandon weeden who athletically doesn't fit the o we want to run...anyways ireland has owned this pick...good for him...if it doesn't pan out he should be held responsible...plenty of guys get fired cause they never fix the qb position...plenty...its the easiest way to get fired...don't have a qb and your heads on the block
