Just saw on NFL.com, under an analysis of the preseason, that Pat Kirwan had the following to say as one of 10 observations from preseason:

" Chad Henne continues to intrigue me as quarterback. Chad Pennington is safe as the starter, but Henne is a star in the making. While I was at camp, Henne ran the offense like a veteran, always getting the ball out of his hand in less than three seconds. In Week 2 preseason action, Henne continued his rhythm-passing and strong-armed attack. In two games, he has completed 17 of 27 passes with a touchdown throw in each preseason game. The Dolphins use a three-second buzzer at practice to make the quarterbacks throw on time. Henne has really benefited from that drill in the games."

Nice to see the Dolphins get some love.

What would "be nice" is to see him get his *** in there and get this show on the road....

Henne isn't getting in there this season, unless an injury occurs and with line that is unlikely.

Line is not so good that Pennington wont get touched or sacked so an injury could definately happen.

Actually, Penny never lasted 2 full seasons I believe. I may be wrong though.
You are very right however Penny has never played behind a line that could block. This isn't a great line yet but by the end of the season i'm looking at them being one of the top five offensive lines in the league.

the 2002 and 2004 Jets lines protected him quite well. In 2004 he was only sacked 18 times and still got injured.

Early in his career, Chad got injured because he thought he was Mike Vick. He broke his had and first injured his shoulder diving for a first down. The second shoulder injury came because the idiotic Jets FO brought him back way too soon. He was hurt in 2007 because he played behind the worst o-line in the history of the league. If our o-line can keep him upright this season, he will be fine.

It seems to me that Henne is like a version of Aron Rodgers and Matt Cassels guys who were developed behind a good QB and the day he goes in he will take over like Rodgers did in Green bay and as Cassel did in NE last year. I hope that happens becuase it would be a relieve to know we have a good consistant quaterback.

Henne has a totally different background than Cassel. 4 year starter at a major program. he was brought in here and is being methodically prepared to take over as a starter. if that works out remains to be seen.

Cassel was never a starter in college. obviously, Belichick saw something he liked, but he was drafted because of value. he wasn't expected to be the starter at any point. it just so happened Brady got hurt last year.

Honestly I think Cassel was a product of the system, I may be wrong but I dont think he will have that good of a season this year, matter of fact not even close, I may be wrong but I wouldnt draft him in fantasy.
