NFL.com: Manning stock watch

I have heard some fans and even some media talking heads trying to compare the Dolphins pursuit of Manning to that of Harbaugh and Fisher.

Here is the big difference in my opinion, with both Harbaugh and Fisher, Miami was always the second team trying to leapfrog over the front runner. Harbaugh was about to get the 49ers job, a job that would allow him to continue living in the same house he had during his time at Stanford. I think the Harbaugh/49ers marriage was pretty much a done deal before Ross ever made that trip to California. As for Fisher, the Rams were always the favorites from day one. The Rams had the second overall pick, a so called "Franchise Quarterback" in Bradford(good luck with that Fisher) and the son of Fisher's agent running the team. I think though that Ross and company made a great impact on Fisher as the "dark horse" Dolphins would have landed him if he received full control.

With that sad, in regards to the Manning hunt, Miami appears to be the front runner. They are now the 49ers of the Harbaugh pursuit or the Rams of the Fisher pursuit. Teams like the Cardinals, Broncos, Chiefs, etc. are the ones looking to leapfrog Miami in my opinion. Always a chance Manning doesn't come here, but there seems to be a lot in our favor. Like the 49ers had the location edge with Harbaugh, Manning owns a house in Miami. Manning apparently prefers not to play in the NFC, Miami just happens to be in the AFC. Manning prefers a dome or warm weather, Miami has warm weather. It is rumored that Manning wants to team up with Reggie Wayne in his new city. Wayne just happens to be from Miami.

I hope this ends well.

WTF? Did they increase the size of his neck in that photo?

Just to clarify 1 thing and thats Reggie Wayne was born in Louisiana and went to John Ehret HS in Jefferson Parrish La.He went to school at THE U and since 2001 has lived in Miami.

Alot of signs point towards Manning and Wayne and possibly Garcon coming to the Phins as a trio.

I wonder what exactly Wayne was saying to convince peyton to go to Miami when they talked on the phone.

The media could have easily looked at Ross in a different way.
Maybe Ross is just aggressive, knowing that both Fisher and Harbaugh were long shots, but he tried anyway. Rex Ryan makes bold predictions, the media loves him, Ross breaks protocol and flies cross country and attempts to steal Harbaugh from his hometown team. The media easily could have portrayed that as a gutsy, win at all cost owner, but the media chose bumbling fool. Like all things, the truth probably lies somewhere in between.
