Miami Dolphins: Get younger in the front seven.

Conventional wisdom suggests the Dolphins will invest every resource possible into answering the immortal South Florida question: Is Ryan Tannehill good enough?

That could be missing the point. After five seasons, Tannehill is clearly not the type of quarterback who can carry a lousy defense.

The team's playoff berth hid that Miami's defense was mostly poor in 2016, with an aging roster that has few up-and-coming players. Dolphins impresario Mike Tannenbaum is never shy spending free agency money, and he could be looking for two new starters at linebacker, a position repeatedly exposed when the Dolphins played quality AFC competition.

Finding a young pass rusher or two -- between the draft and free agency -- should also be a priority for a team that can't expect Cameron Wake to be superhuman forever.

Easy. Just send these two to visit Tom.

A QB who can carry a lousy defense. Like who?

I think that was in defense of Tannehill. There isn't a QB that can carry a lousy defense. Just look at New Orleans, they have a super bowl winning QB yet have repeatedly missed the playoffs because of a lousy defense. 5208 yards passing and 37 TDs and no playoffs.

Im so tired of that lamb chop sporting clown questioning the qb...that dopes endorsing tyrod taylor to buffalo as if that takes them anywhere

Pound sand rosenthal you freaking hack

As if a Dolphins fan had to be reminded that even the best QB is often not enough to overcome a horrid defense.

For the best possible example, watch videos of Dolphins games from 1986-1988.

When Miami's offense is successful, they can usually overcome the poor defense by staying on the field and scoring TDs. But, to do this consistently, they need to FIX THE DAMN O-LINE! Relying on Albert and Pouncey to stay healthy and play every game (or even most games) is a mistake; just replace them and rebuild the line for the future. IMO, the only starting o-lineman worth keeping is Tunsil.

weather we have good defense or bad defense. I still do not feel that thill17 can carry team to superbowl...or afc championship game right now. the only good thing that might work his way is tom and big ben will be gone in 2 to 4 yr. these are 2 best qb in afc. if he can proved me wrong. I will give him all credit in world.

It all starts with the oline. Keep the Defense fresh and off the field. Gase will get the offense clicking in year 2.

the match up in afc
pit cannot beat n.e at all. n.e is in pit way to superbowl.
miami cannot beat kc,bal, pit, and n.e in playoff game. den oak and, hou?
kc,cinn and hou will make playoff and go home in 1st rd....

 I love when people say Miami can't beat ______ in February. Hell, people like to say we only beat one team with a winning record, but we're the reason WHY a lot of those teams have losing records. No one thought we could beat the Bills once, let alone sweep them this past year! Just like when a lot of people never thought Matt Ryan would never be an elite QB, win in January, take his team to the next level, etc etc. Well he definitely proved a lot of people wrong this year including myself. Can Tannehill do that? Time will tell, but I think he took a big step to that this year.

What an interesting statement. Tell me who's more responsible for getting the team into the playoffs this season? Offense or Defense?

After you answer that question. Please reevaluate your statement.
