[h=3]Miami Dolphins: Linebackers[/h]This is a big offseason for Dolphins impresario Mike Tannenbaum. The team needs to build on a solid first draft fully under his watch and find quality depth that wasn't present when injuries hit this season. The team's linebacker group is a great place to start. It was exposed badly in games against the Ravens, Patriots and Steelers.

Tannenbaum's trade for Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso from Philadelphia looks like a win after one season, but the team could use two new starters next to Alonso at linebacker.

Jumping from 6-10 to 10-6 and a wild-card berth because of a series of close wins is the easy part. Plenty of teams have done that over the last decade, only to fall back to Philbinocrity. Building a consistent winner is far more challenging, and Miami needs young core pieces throughout a roster that still lacks defined strengths beyond the receiver group and defensive line.

Phailbinocrity lol that's hilarious, but true under Joe.

Everyone keeps talking about the Linebacker position and rightfully so, but we need some interior linemen one the defensive side of the ball as well. Beside Suh we really have no one else and it shows. If we don't get him some help soon in the draft/FA he isn't going to last very long. By the way....someone needs to light a fire under Jordan Phillips a$$ as well.

I'm not sure another DT is needed. Philips should really come into his own next year as it takes a lot of DTs to do. LB is a "no duh" need for this team though. I'd really like to see the first two rounds go LB and LB. Just infuse it with talented youth.

One thing that doesn't need fixing is ST. Outside of Lippet's moronic move that unit has performed pretty darn good this year.

we need lb, run stop dt, og, qb, ss

I hope you're right on Phillips. When he was drafted, I envisioned he and Suh causing so much destruction in the league that running backs would be afraid to run up the middle of the line, but he seems to not be the answer and that would be a real shame for a kid that big. I am wondering if he just doesn't have that killer mentality you know.

We need to retain Branch, get another solid DE, 2 starting LB's (Jenkins Hewitt Vigil would be nice as backups), at least one more CB, at least one more safety (unless they're happy with Rambo getting snaps next season). I put DT low on my priority list... unfortunately we pay Suh entirely too much money to invest too much more into the position. You make due with Mitchell and Phillips next to Suh and focus on literally every other position on this defense.

That's quite a bit of work to do especially since we have at least 1-2 OL players needed.

Lots of work today, but we went 10-6 with all these holes. If Gase isn't a fluke, which I'd be shocked he is, it can only get better.

All I've ever got is ohio state buckeyes to offer for my draft suggestions. This year I've got 3 real gems. We probably cant get them all, or even 2 maybe. Pat Elflein, turned center his senior year, played as a guard his soph and junior years and led the way for Zeke to go ridiculous. He opened holes that year that Ajayi would just obliterate...in a good way., plus he can be a backup center. Perfect fit.

Malik hooker. Ballhawking, playmaking, sound tackling machine. Dude is everywhere and is gonna be reshad jones like in the secondary. Could we use someone like that when we already have Jones? Of course. I put IAQ right there with Delmas a couple years ago. A player I really like, but because of injuries, I'm just not counting on to return.

Lastly, Raekwon McMillan. He was the leader of one of the better ohio state defenses I've seen. Too bad their offense with Mike webber and JT Barret as,the main threats sucked. Anyways, Raekwon did a great job being everywhere. He filled the gaps well and plays with fire. He foes need work on coverage though, but what LB coming out of college doesn't?? I'm biggest on Elflein for fit.

How long do you think Mitchell will be effective (and he's not all that effective)? It's not just that the position next to Suh has been inconsistent, it's that it lacks depth.
