Wanted to share for whoever didn't see this small bit on Stills.

Stills' inclusion on this list will surprise some observers, but defensive coordinators around the NFL are well aware of his explosiveness and big-play potential as the Dolphins' new vertical threat. Stills averaged 16.5 yards per catch and amassed 11 receptions of 40-plus yards during his first two NFL seasons, both with the New Orleans Saints. In Miami, he should have plenty of opportunities to get behind the defense, with Ryan Tannehill intent on taking more shots downfield in 2015. Stills is a dynamic route runner with explosive speed (he clocked a 4.38-second 40-yard dash at the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine) and stellar stop-start quickness. He specializes in running double moves on the perimeter (stutter-go, out-and-up and post-corner-post), but also displays the acceleration and burst to run past defenders on basic vertical routes. With the Dolphins poised to take advantage of his skills as a vertical threat, Stills could finally get the attention he deserves as one of the NFL's premier playmakers.

I'm excited to see what he can do. If he fights for the ball I'll instantly like him over Wallace.

Interesting that he lists Stills and not Mike Wallace.

Also interesting (and refreshing) that they expect his deep ball success to continue in Miami. Certainly helps that he shouldn't have alot of double teams

The receiving corp. looks dramatically improved to me....if they stay healthy it could be scary good.

That was the 1st thing to jump out at me from the article. I like Stills just fine but our whole argument for going after Wallace was that he was this elite deep threat... I wonder how quickly the Tanne-bashers will blame him for Wallace's absence from this list.

Nice article. Tannehill seems to struggle with the deep ball more than my Dolphin's Goggles want me to admit sometimes.. But hopefully having his 3rd year under his belt and his receivers now more intent on getting the damn ball vs waiting on the ball to hit em in the breadbasket we will be rocking to the playoffs

I have much hope.for Stills, but he does not scare defenses the way Wallace does. I think Stills will have more explosive plays than Wallace did because of coverage and ball skills. But, Lamar Miller will miss Wallace always dragging a safety with him on run plays.

Cause Wallace isn't a threat let alone a deep one
he certainly was before he got to Miami

In Pitt Wallace averaged 17.2 yds per rec, went down to 12.8 in Miami
In NO Stills averaged 16.5 yds per rec, we'll see what happens in Miami.

No more excuses for Tannehill. He has to take advantage of his weapons and hit on core deep balls this year. Stills will get behind coverage often.

But what I love is that he's not just a vertical threat. He was asked to run more routes and he delivered. Believe Brees had something ridiculous like a 112 passer rating when throwing to him. Really hope this guy can be the consistent playmaker for Tannehill that Wallace couldn't be.

That's more just chemistry. Wallace had none with tannehill and made little effort to fix it. Wallace tracks the ball horribly. Something the FO noticed, which is why they went and found a deep threat with good tracking skills this time...that's a bold strategy cotton, lets see if it pays off for them!

being on the same page is part of it, I like Stills. I do wonder why NO got rid of a young, cheap player though.

You and me both. I'm optimistic, however if this is a kid that needs a lot of guidance Philbin is not the type of coach who is capable of that. Then again, being around guys like Landry and Jennings could go a long way towards guiding him down the right path.

i think the saints just liked the deal...ellerbe an a draft pick sounded good to them for a receiver who had shown maturity problems (reported) and who brees apparently did not have a great relationship with (also reported - Beasley)....

I'm happy we got Stills....this was a deal I thought was good for both teams....Stills fits in perfectly to what we're building as a dynamic group of Wideouts..
