NFL.COM Video Compares Hakeem to Chris Chambers

Hakeem Nicks deserves a better comparison than that. Nicks and Chambers are nowhere near the same players. Nicks reminds me more of Michael Irvin, sans the off field baggage.

Nicks is too slow to be a #1 WR. He could be solid, but we also have 3 other guys that are solid.

I see what they are saying. I see the comparison as far as body type. Other than that, I think Hicks is better in the mentality dept. He just looks like he wants it more. He is smoother in open field.

Nicks brings somethingto the table that none of the others bring. He is more than fast enough to be a numbe one.

Agree....I was watching him run a drill on an ESPN competition that involved running routes at common distances around obsticles and making catches. He won that competition. I was VERY impressed and I think his game speed will transition nicely.

Nicksran a 4.49.

Bolding ran a 4.5 I believe.
Rice ran a 4.5-6
Fitz ran a 4.6 at his pro day!

he has omethng that all those 3 have in common, GREAT hands, GREaT at running routes, and GREAT at using his body and legs to get extra yards.

speak now about not being a capable number 1.

The difference is Irvin was a sure fire first rounder, taken 11th in the first round...Nicks isn't.

I still says he no #1 ;) especially in our offensive style

Why's that? What makes our offense unable to accommodate his style of play? Nicks comes from one of the most pro-ready college offenses in the nation, he has great initial quickness, excellent hands, good leaping ability, god strength and good size. There's nothing about our offense that doesn't allow to play a wide receiver like that. Consider Nicks & Ginn with Cam and Bess in the slots and London coming out as our big receiver. That's an excellent set with all (5) of them complementing each other.

Wouldn't that make the Dolphins a spread offense...5 receivers?

ur comparing him to smeone coming into a draft 15 yrs ago or whatever?

if you want to mention that, put the players coming from taht draft into affect as well and consideration.

oh btw, Boldin wasn't a 1st round pick Ocho wasn't a top 11 pick, Bowe is very good wasn't a top 11 pick, moss a great wasn't a top 11 pick etc.

so saying he went 11 is irrelivant.

Hello...they were comparing Irvin to Nicks...right?

I saw Irvin play...both at college and in the NFL...and Nicks is no Irvin...in fact there's no receiver in this draft at this time is close to Irvin.
