Over Trae Waynes :idk:

I mean... it could be worse.

I'd not draft Bell though, or any TE. Maybe try out Purdue's guy as an UDFA

TE is a wasted pick, especially in the 5th round.

I've seen a lot of disappointing mocks lately.

 Over Gurley, Waynes, Ray, and even Perriman and Johnson. Sadly, I wouldn't be shocked.

i'm sorry... but that is just awful draft... i wouldnt be happy. and PLEASE NO TE DRAFT PICKS THIS YEAR AT ALL!!!

I like pick 2-5, despite the fsct i dont see jones lasting that long. Guess I'm alone in liking Blake Bell too

But hate the fact we miss out on all fhe rbs.

There is a decent chance it shakes out this way. Gurley is the splash name, which poses the possibility of it being bait to try to trade down. I'm SUPER curious what will happen if Gurley is there at 14...we will learn if the interest was legit.

Does this mock draft give us some big names to market next year around? No. Would it make our team better at some major trouble areas? Undoubtedly.

One of the worst draft lists of any team. I looked at it yesterday - if memory serves the Chargers and Bears had a brilliant haul - so it can be done in the very shaky draft.

I'd be leaning towards something like:

1 Gurley RB
2 Dawson ILB/OLB
4 Donovan Smith OT/G
5 Senquez Golson CB & DeAndre Smelter WR
6 Donald Celiscar CB

We need to fill the DB room and Golson for me is one of the safest picks, despite his size. That kid will start. Smelter isn't an elite pass catcher, but in round 5 I'm happy to get a big body, sure hands and devastating blocking to round out our WR roster that's a bit lightweight. Celiscar is much better than his draft slot, imo. Rounds 2 and 4 are where the risk is, but I have faith in Dawson and Smith's ceiling as a guard/tackle is higher than most - if he can put it all together. John Miller and Mitch Morse would be a consideration in the 4th too. Gurley is probably the only elite guy on the board at 14 who isn't a lineman or a bad fit. He makes us instantly better.

I look at that list though and I'm not taking anyone significant on the D-line - where there's real depth. Not sure I'd change it though.
