NFL Draft Countdown - Updated Mock

What a lovely problem to have. I'd pick McClain only because ILB are few and I'm certain we could pick up an OLB in the 3rd AFTER we pick Gilyard in the 2nd. Norwood of SC, Bowman - Penn St., or even Johnson of Kentucy may be available when we pick 73rd. We all know that the draft never goes the way it should and somone is ALWAYS picked where they should be (Ginn? Jason Allen? Pat White?).
I'd go for McClain. He can run from sideline to sideline without breaking a sweat.
Then either a TE or NT in the 4th since we don't have a 5th - but that could change, too.

the Trifecta won't draft Pierre-Paul, he only played one year of division 1 football. I like Kindle, but McClain is a much better prospect and will never last to 15

If we get McClain, I won't be disappointed. I'll fee like we're better off grabbing E. Thomas and getting an ILB in RD 2 or 3, but I think McClain would definitely help our D. If we draft Kindle in RD 1, I'll break a skull. Why do people think he's a good pass rusher?

i hope mcclain turns out better than patrick willis, who was the last ilb that i could remember picked in the top 15, that became very good if not great

Yea, I think it is clear that McClain will not last past our pick at 12.

I don't know, there is a very good chance the Miami brass isn't enamored with McClain. A lot of Saban's players seem to leave college maxed out via scheme and coaching.

He has the looks of a solid, but not great, NFL player when I watch him. I'm not a professional talent scout though, so who knows.

Since watching highlights on mcclain one thing that really is bothering me is his pursuit to the ball when plays get past the 2nd level. I mean he starts jogging to the ball, i would even say close to walking. I dont know if he was just tired, or lazy but its something that needs to be addressed as soon as he comes to the league. Not saying Spikes is better, but i've really never seen Spikes give up on a play like mcclain seems to do way too much.

if we don't get at least three defensive starters out of this draft and free agency, 2010 is over before it starts.

I usually respect Scott Wright's draft analysis a lot but, he recently updated his mock.

And with the 12th pick, he has us selecting Sergio Kindle...with Rolando McClain still on the board....
