25. Miami Dolphins- Vontae Davis, CB (Illinois)
> The Dolphins, just like the Falcons, completed a fantastic one year turnaround under the guidance of Bill Parcells, going from a 1-15 laughingstock to AFC East champions in just one year. However, they are still a team with holes, particularly on defense. The secondary was very poor in pass coverage, and was constantly being bailed out by the pressure brought by OLB's Joey Porter and Matt Roth. If they want to survive in the pass happy AFC, they'll need a solid corner to give the rest of the secondary an easier time. Illinois' Davis has been playing with great technique for the past two years, and NFL teams have taken note. Miami will find itself lucky if he slips this far, and they won't let him get past them.
12. Miami Dolphins (from Washington)- Rashad Johnson, FS (Alabama)
> Miami continues to overhaul its pitiful secondary by taking its new free safety. Johnson has emerged as a solid prospect this year, and could find himself going earlier than this with a good showings at the Senior Bowl and Scouting Combine.
24. Miami Dolphins- Fenuki Tupou, OL (Oregon)
> Miami will continue to improve its offensive and defensive lines under Bill Parcells, and Tupou gives them a player who can play both tackle and guard.
23. Miami Dolphins- Jason Phillips, ILB (TCU) > The Dolphins appear to be set at outside linebacker with Joey Porter and Matt Roth, but with Channing Crowder set to be a free agent and with the mediocre Akin Ayodele starting next to him, Miami could use a new inside linebacker.
