Pray I Hope GIF

Please fall to 13 and please give Grier the braincells to draft him if he's there.

In other News, the Dolphins are clearly looking for another QB.

Really hope we can find a good backup qb in the draft, it’s going to be much more cost effective in the long run than signing quality veteran qbs at 6-10 mil a year…if we are paying our backup less than a mil then we can save a nice chunk and upgrade the roster

not sure what Grier is up too but it makes me nervous. First, why is he pushing dead money towards 2026? But the scary part is, who is he after? Not many expensive free agents left out there so is he working on trading more high picks away from expensive players? That hasn’t worked in the past so I hope that's not the case.

They've been going into the seasons the last couple years with more capspace than they need and end up rolling it over, so not sure if they just want to do that again or they are gearing up for another acquisition but its pretty standard for them the past couple years to have this much space.

He should have def used all of Wilsons cap space for 2025 and not pushed it though

it is also interesting that while they signed zach wilson (and gave him a decent hunk of $ for what he is), and then pushed money out to next year, they are also meeting w all these rookie QBs which means they are thinking about drafting one. my conclusion, once again, is they are concerned about tua being the guy and they are giving themselves options to move on. that much seems obvious at this point

Tua's here till at least the 2026 season....there's an out after that but make no mistake, they can’t get rid of Tua after this season because of the dead money it'd leave. i'm talking as far as cutting goes.

They ABSOLUTELY are examining post-Tua options. Both he and Jaelen Phillips are on their last chance in Miami. If either goes down early, that's it.
I think any GM worth his salt would be looking at the Tua situation with an open mind.

How much can you count on him? Will another concussion be a career ender? It only makes sense to stockpile the position. To look forward.

The Zach Wilson signing is all about upside. Can Wilson's processing skills improve to match his physical abilities? If so, maybe you have something. It seems like a stretch, but it's a low end contract.

Ultimately, Miami's likely going to have to swing in the draft. Maybe a middle rounder in 2025, or a potential high pick in 2026.

While 2025 isn't a great quarterback draft, there are some intriguing players. Milroe, from a physical standpoint, can do some things you can't teach. Howard stepped up in the playoffs and has size and athletic ability. Riley Leonard is a good athlete, who maybe develops under good coaching? Everything looks to be there for him at times.

As to Phillips, that's two significant injuries. I know he worked hard to comeback, but how much can the team expect now? It's a strong draft for pass rushers and should be an emphasis for Grier.
