NFL goal of stopping concussions, is it realistic?

Every year the NFL becomes more and more violent because these dudes are getting bigger, faster, and stronger.

HOWEVER, the NFL has done a magnificent job of forecasting and has taken appropriate measures to prevent as many concussions and major injuries as possible. But this is still football. Just like driving a car is still driving a car. Automakers can improve satefy features until their heart's content but in the end, accidents still happen and people still die or get injured.

The NFL must protect their product. And that's reason to move the kickoffs up in order to reduce the number of kickoff returns to lower the possibility of concussions on a kickoff. Of course I know whawhy concussions are down 40%.

I have to disagree with your comment that because players are bigger, faster and stronger automatically means the game is more violent. From what i seen that since players are bigger, faster and stronger, players now do not have to rely on violent measure to take a player down. Also players are more self conscience about their health and looks then they were in the past. Talk to any past players and they will tell you, past football was WAY more violent. I agree before Roger Godell the league has done a great job at eliminating UNNECESSARY parts of the game to all across the board, protecting OLinemen and DLinemen from using techniques that only used to cause injuries, tackling at the knees, putting your hands in the mask. But Roger Godell has taken extreme measures by removing NECESSARY parts of the game, slowly eliminating kick return game, slowly removing tackling the quarterback. Favoritism towards certain players like QBs and WR. The more I look at what Godell is doing, he is painting a picture that the defense is a unwanted aspect of the game. This is not minor changes like a seat belt for a car, its more like making the speed limit on the expressway 15 miles per hour to reduce fatal car accidents.

With Godell going so public with his fight against concussions, is it making parents more like to have their child play football or is it making it less likely to play football? No with Concussion as the top story in football, i think it make it less appealing for a parent to want to their child to play football.
