I think we have to give WANNY some credit for knowing that winning football today is just WAITING for the other team to self-destruct. Yeah, WANNY was a dumba$$ too and I'm glad he's gone but he's right in this respect.

Thats a losers mentality, a winner gets good players and goes out and wins the game, we will be doing that when we have all the talent we need.

I agree with you, but at this point with Gus - we need to be playing WANNY ball and that's my point. I think Linehan needs to do a better job of knowing WHAT kind of talent we have NOW and play according to our strengths.

When we get a better QB, sure - we can play more LINEHAN ball but with 2 great RB's we can't just forget they exist. MARTZ ball is stupid too.

It sounds like your definition of a good football game is an offensive shootout. If you're all about offense, you might be following the wrong team.

It's not that we suck, the entire NFL is pretty bad these days.

1. The Falcons should have put 35 points and 500 yards up against us but they self-destructed too. No way we should have been in it.

2. Our play-calling blew, our penalties still kill us, our defense pulls up lame at crucial times. We're WAY too inconsistent.

3. Watching OTHER nfl games, you can see the VERY same thing. Turnovers, penalties, stupid stuff happening almost all the time. Bad pass here and there.

What happened to GOOD football. I'm very serious when I say that I'd rather watch GOOD football than WANNY ball that's pretty much "let's make less mistakes out there than the other team".

In today's NFL, it's actually SMART to play close-to-the-cuff and limit mistakes and NOT take chances because there's a LOT of stupidity going on out there by most teams.

It didn't used to be like this.

The NFL just seems watered down and it's getting increasingly harder to watch ballgames these days.

Is it the coaching? Are the player IQ's lower these days? What's going on?

You see what I see. Horrible QB play. The # of NFL caliber QB's is dropping yearly. It takes a few years to see if you made the wrong pick....Boller, Carr, Harrington, Loserman, so more and more hacks are starting in the NFL. It explains why 42 year old Vinnie can still play in the NFL and Flutie too.
