NFL LIVE Bruschi and Edwards pick Dolphins QB situation (3rd) (1st) worst.

of course brady is first. the pats are always first no matter what with ESPN its classic.

Yea only because of that, nothing to do with him being the best qb in the league for the past who knows how many years

But the "turning point" didn't happen in game six and continue for the rest of the season...that's my point....his final 5 games he had 1 TD and 6 INTs....

His season started low, reached a peak in the middle, and then came crashing down...so your 5/11 split isn't an accurate picture of his season. It's more like 5/6/5..and if how the season ended is weighted more than how it began, it doesn't bode well.

The New Orleans game he threw a pick-6 that was a back breaker. New Orleans had just fumbled a kickoff and after being down 14-0 out of the gate, the Rams had a chance to get back into. Pick 6, now it's 21-3, game over. Bad.

The KC game was a different story. Both of the INTs in that game came with less than 3 minutes to go, down 14 with the Rams playoff hopes slipping away. That's a nothing to lose situation. Both INTs were on bombs down the field. No misread coverages to be found here. He knew what the risks were and knew that checking down wasn't going to to anything to help them win the game. I'm sure you see the difference between these INTs and the one that blew the game open in NO.

(As an aside, this is why Sanchez's game against the Bills his rookie year is one of the worst games a QB has ever played. The team was getting whatever they wanted on the ground, and Buffalo was doing nothing on offense. He knew he was having a bad day and had no reason to keep pushing it down the field. Of course, the coordinator could have taken the game out of his hands not having him throw 30 times, but that's in the past now)

I didn't see the Arizona game or the San Fransisco game (numbers were poor against Arizona, very good against San Fran) and the Seattle game was a mess. His first "playoff" game, on the road, and he didn't respond well.

I still maintain that there was a clear turning point after game 5. The dip at the end of the season seemed, to my eyes, to be a good quarterback going through a rough stretch. To say the Rams passing game is bare bones is being too kind. Everyone who watched Bradford play last year came away very impressed with what they saw. Even someone like me, who had major concerns about him when he was drafted (that Oklahoma offense was stacked and I wasn't sure just how much of their success could be attributed to him).

You have to base it on last season. Counting two pre season games and an assumption what the future holds is silly. That puts the Fins as having one of the worst QB situations in the NFL.

Easy for us to say how horrible this franchise is about not drafting or placing a high priority on QB since 1983 but let someone in the media point it out and all hell breaks loose.

There are a quite a few teams that are worse off than us.

Not in any order -

49ers - Smith, who has been an absolute failure, and Kaepernick who looks unsteady. You cant judge rookies, simply because they have no NFL time, but in time kaepernick could and probably should be the long term starter after week 8.

Redskins - Grossman is at best a backup, but may get the starters spot because Beck is his backup. Beck was not given much of a chance with the worst Dolphion team in history.

Raiders - Campbell & Edwards are similar to both Henne & Moore in terms of ability I think. All 4 have started without really doing anything outstanding, but Miami is a better all round team. The raiders are that dysfunctional that both there qb's will struggle. And Pryor...please......

Seattle - Jackson & Whitehurst. As bad as the skins.

Bengals - Dalton - see Kaepernick. Gradkowski is a backup who is serviceable at best.

Vikes - McNabb is well past his best, and although he may have a few good games left in him, his backups are not inspiring. McNabb will start the year ok, but I can see Ponder stepping in mid season.

Browns - McCoy & Wallace - McCoy has a pretty decent year in the end, but I think he is on par with Henne. Wallace is similar to Moore. Has started but didnt hold on to his spot. I am confident that Henne will have a decent year with Daboll. We saw what he can do with McCoy, but can McCoy do it again.

Panthers - Netwon - see Kaepernick and rookies, Clausen had a woeful year on a horrible team, ala Beck, so we wont really know how good or bad he is untill he leave carolina.

Titans - Hassellbeck is like McNabb and Lockyer is unproven. They are, like the vikes, just a tad below the Dolphins.

Those on par with the Dolphins are IMO Buffalo, Tampa, Detroit (if Stafford stays healthy then they go up a few notches, but he doesnt stay healthy, and thats a major issue) and Arizona.

Next tier, and its a only a small step up in ability is Chicago because Cutler is actually a decent QB, KC, Denver, Jags - Garrard is still pretty good, Jets, Giants, Rams (and rising), Falcons, Ravens and Texans

Upper tier is Chargers, Pats, Pack, Steelers, Saints, Colts - but that depends on Mannings injury, Philly & Dallas.

Worst are seattle, cinci & panthers.

Just my opinion......

Bruschi is someone I absolutely hateto hear give his thoughts on anything,he is the biggest homer I have ever heard and makes me sick every time he opens his mouth so I could care less what he said now,or anytime. As for Herm he's not coaching now for a reason IMO.

I didnt mind herm as a coach, but as an analysist, my god, he is so painful. So over eccentric and expressed stuff way over the top. Pain in the a55.

well, in the latest edition of Sporting News (NFL preview) they predicted Miami to finish last and select Luck with the first overall pick. I know the media likes to gang up on Henne's short comings, but predicting the team to finish #32 in the NFL, that's some ammunition to prove the people wrong!

I just hope at the end of the season the Dolphins can host a party and serve the media a big slice of -

Detroits QB situation is far better. I'd take Sean Hill over Henne any day. Stafford will be in the top tier before his career is over. The only teams you listed as bad as Miami is the 49ers and Panthers.

So lets just say were bottom five. It still sucks.

Dead on.

They wax poetic about the Jets and Pats. They pile on others. Seems like sloppy journalism.

EXACTLY!!
I love the way EVERY TIME Sanchize is talked about...."the Jets will be better, because Mark will be improved over last season, because he is entering his 3rd year, and he WILL be better, his accuracy WILL improve"....REALLY?????? and you know this HOW?? Pure assumption. Sanchez looks pretty much like the same ol' QB we've see the past 2 seasons. He could just as well have a "sophomore slump" type season this year. (Given the fact of all the changes @ WR, etc.)

Wow.. let's get sensitive about what some analyst says. I for one don't believe, nor do i think many on this board believes, what we have a top rated QB group. Could we be the worst.. yes we could. Then again, so could many other teams.

The only way to shut people up is to win games.

Again I dont care too much about Analysts opinions but lets be honest, at the end of the last season our QB situation was one of the worst in the NFL and what did we do to improve it? Moore? Devlin?

The new system may help Henne or it may not, but from an outsiders view the opinion is pretty much correct.
Chubbs

I think the bungals, seattle, carolina and the 49ers have a worse qb situation...
