If you think things can not get any worse it is only because you lack imagination.
 
I think if we have better players the line will be better and I sure as hell think we have better tackles. I admit I'm unsure about the guards and obviously we will come into the year with a center that's as good as the starter. To me the trick is to avoid long drawn out camp battles. Get these guys set and use camp/preseason to gain chemistry. Waiting for the first 4 weeks of the regular season for your line to gain chemistry is asinine. We've seen this a lot here and when the line is tinkered with it generally sucks.
 
Branden Albert on sure beats Jonathan "Flabby Arms" Martin and we spent a first round pick on Ja'Wuan James! That should make us better. Pouncey being out sucks, but that is the NFL. Stop making excuses, if Tannehill, Miller, Wallace, Hartline etc can pick up Lazor's offense we should be stoked. If not, heartbreak for another year...

I think our line will still be crap.

Albert is good not amazing
James is a rookie
Pouncey is hurt
Smith has never been a starter and struggles big time in pass pro
Thomas/Turner have never played an NFL game


feeling secure Ryan?
 
They should slam us in my opinion. We had the cap room to get experienced and proven starters at G and T but instead we still have question marks in Shelly Smith and Ju'wan James.

This thread and others making excuses for Ryan and the Offense being terrible because of the O Line. Even with a absolutely abysmal O Line last year, we were 2 games from the Playoffs, and left plenty of plays TD's on the field that could of led to victories. Our biggest Free Agent was Oline, our First Round Pick was O Line. I just think some homers whine and make excuses for sub par talent like Daniel Thomas for instance. How about when folks say Drew Brees would not be successful behind our line, I call BS. No O Line in the league is perfect, dudes on every team get hurt and people have to step up.
 
The line has to open holes for the RB's, and block for Tannehill, and do both well, and that's a tall order, I don't blame guys on the TV doubting they can do it, because they haven't proven yet that they can.

Plus the guys we have are mainly for pass protection, that's what we focused on in FA and the draft. Guys like Bitonio did not come to Miami, even though we could have used him for the run game.

I'm expecting the line to be a work in progress. I'm hoping though, that the scheme will be executed properly which could solve some problems.

I don't know if we will suck on Oline, but there is a good chance. Any sportscaster comments are not out of line.
