NFL live just sorta bashed us..

This thread and others making excuses for Ryan and the Offense being terrible because of the O Line. Even with a absolutely abysmal O Line last year, we were 2 games from the Playoffs, and left plenty of plays TD's on the field that could of led to victories. Our biggest Free Agent was Oline, our First Round Pick was O Line. I just think some homers whine and make excuses for sub par talent like Daniel Thomas for instance. How about when folks say Drew Brees would not be successful behind our line, I call BS. No O Line in the league is perfect, dudes on every team get hurt and people have to step up.

I agree to an extent. I dont think there's much excuse making in this thread. We had a bad online last year. It 'should be' better this year. I think last year our offense was also hampered by a bad offensive coordinator that led a very vanilla offensive with little movement, had bad cadence (Go, GO GO), and didn't seem to make any adjustments. If you take those as excuses, I could see why, but everyone is going to have their own opinion on why the offense struggled last year. So if you and I differ on who's to blame, than we could both say the other is making excuses for whom we think is not to blame. But what you see as excuses, I see as people's opinions of what went wrong.

I haven't seen people say anything about Brees, but I also don't really pay attention to the 'what if' game. There is no validity to those arguments either way. We would never know if he would or wouldn't have success. It's funny to see posters get in heated arguments on hypothetical situations that never happened or will never happen.

The issue is there isn't a middle ground with some people. Too many people either want to give up on Tanny or they deflect a lot of blame. I agree with what you said but too many people either use the ol and Sherman as crutches or people call those mentioning that as blind homers. Now could Tanny have helped the ol a bit? Yes. But when your tackles are on their backs right at the snap what can you do?

Too many people also want national recognition.

I agree completely. It's hard to be able to make valid points when everything is always the polar extremes!

I think our line will still be crap.

Albert is good not amazing
James is a rookie
Pouncey is hurt
Smith has never been a starter and struggles big time in pass pro
Thomas/Turner have never played an NFL game

feeling secure Ryan?

Albert is not amazing but is a top 10 LT , as for the rest , true James is a rookie But was a atleast late 1st to early 2nd which should be good enough to start ,and play decent ,and as for Smith wheather he started or not , when he dose come in , he plays pretty decent ,the only possion i would question is the possion where Turner/Thomas will be playin , IF they can hold down the fort on there side , i think we will be ok until we get pouncey back , we still have camp and cuts IF the Coaches dont think we have enough , But i think we will be ok..

Why does anyone take seriously what any of the "analysts" on any network says?

If you really believe the "Well it cant possibly be worse" argument, I assure you, its a strong possibility. Not saying it will, just that having a horrible OL doesn't prevent you from having an even worst unit the following year. And you have no right to use "should" when saying we spent a first on a tackle so he "should" be an upgrade... This this pure optimistic wishful thinking at best.

This thread is complete homerville right now. Nothing they said was out of line.

Our O Line WILL be a problem.

How do you know that as a fact? I'm not saying its gonna go one way or the other but at this point there's no way to tell, there's been 3 days of training camp...I won't worry until after preseason games are over. To say that the o-line could be as bad or worse than last year is a premature assumption. You could put a mannequin at left tackle and it would give tannehill more time than crybaby martin gave him....
