NFL May Move Saints to Los Angeles

The Washington Post reports the NFL will consider relocating the Saints to Los Angeles if New Orleans is unable to recover from Hurricane Katrina.

The newspaper cites three sources familiar with the league's deliberation on the matter.

The Saints have been based in San Antonio since they were forced out of the Crescent City by the damaging August hurricane.

But the sources say the league has no interest in the Texas city as a permanent home for the club.

Los Angeles is the second-largest television market in the country and has been without an NFL team since the Raiders moved back to Oakland after the 1994 season.

But will Los Angeles build a stadium? I highly doubt the NFL will want the Saints to play in the rathole colisseum.

The Coliseum is going to be rebuilt. The plans are already in works. The saints will move to los angeles.

Saints isnt a bad name for a team located in New Orleans. Doesnt fit well for LA though.

So does anyone know what they would do about divisions? They cant have an LA team and a Tampa team in the same division. They would probably have to mix things up?

New Orleans should be able to keep the name and logo if they cant have a team like Cleveland did with the Browns.

Why would they? The Dolphins are in the East, while the Colts are in the South. No re-aligning will happen.

I agree. If the Saints move to LA, I hope they get the Ravens or Titans treatment and choose a new name, new colors and uniforms.
