NFL mock draft on NFl network - top 10

i saw it on nfl.com ...imo mike mayock's mock draft is not very likely..
he says chris long will fall to #6 and that we will pick matt ryan(because in his opinion john beck is not the answer..how can he say that so fast?)...i just don't see that coming...
imo mayock showed that ryan "is his guy" and that he has a (personal?) antipathy against mcfadden(in his ratings before the combine he rated him in the top 20 and after the combine mcfadden still not makes the top 10)...mayock also complained often about the fumbles of mcfadden but never about the many INTs of ryan..

Mike May**** is a BC alum who is all over Matt Ryan's jock.

A lot of "experts" have us drafting Matt Ryan as they all believe we need an upgrade at QB, but with Woodson, Flacco, Henne, Brohm, Brennan and others who could be just as good, why risk the overall #1 on Ryan?

Hey dude, Mike Mayock is always just about 99% right on his calls and he is 100% the closest mock draft to what actually happens. It seems to me more that you have a personal @#! on with john beck. Mike Mayock obviously has watched tape of both QBs and I will go with his and BP's assessment that John Beck isn't the answer as "every" dolphan saw last season. And that Matt Ryan is a franchise QB.

Mike Mayock is an objective expert. He doesn't put Mcfadden in the top 10 "just because everyone else does". He sees Mendenhall as the all around better back, so he says what he sees.

Then, this is the guy who called Adrian Rogers to fall all the way to GB when no one else would and everyone thought he was crazy. He called Ronnie Brown to be selected by MIA when others had us picking Braylon Edwards. He even had Reggie Bush at #1 (like everyone did) but would state that he has a hunch that HOU will actually pass on Bush and pick Mario Williams.

People looked at his mock when he called Whitner to BUF and Jason Allen to MIA and laughed. He was "right", again.

He called Jay Cutler the draft's best QB and a 1st rounder. While others said Cutler was a 2nd rounder. Cutler has looked better than Vince Young and done better than the injury prone Leinart. Oh, Mike Mayock called Leinart's fall out of the top five and what happened? Leinart fell.

Now, he looked at tape and was "not" impressed with Beck. Neither was anyone who actually faithfully saw the games last season like me. Also, he sees the QB who won the Manning Award "over Tebow". The QB who shows the "it" factor that Peyton, Eli, and Rothlesberger have and calls the obvious...

How can BP pass on Matt Ryan when what he has is John Beck? The answer is a no brainer. You don't.

Matt Ryan will be the #1 overall pick....as he should be. The only way we don't crown him the franchise QB is if/when ATL throws us a trade up offer that includes Deangelo Hall and the #3 pick and something else and entices us to go with Jake Long at #3.

Stop seeing what you "want" to see in John Beck and look at what he has shown and what Matt Ryan has shown.

If Matt Ryan sucked, then why would ATL even be thinking of moving up to #1 for him? He must be "that" good.

C'mon dude. Also, why would BP only sign McCown to a 2 year deal, which can actually be a 1 year deal if we so chose? Because of the reason why BP has ordered "every single pass" that Matt Ryan has thrown in his college career...to select our next QB.

If you go and look at Beck's tape. You will see that he doesn't "suck" per se...he just can't hold Ryan's jock strap. But he comes close to sucking if you go by what he has shown so far. And that is all BP can go by.

He can't just "hope" Beck gets better...he must go by what he has shown us in college and in real NFL play. Mediocrity at best.

Matt Ryan will be MIA's selection. But if ATL entices with a deal we can't refuse? Then we take Hall and the #3 and whatever they add and move to #3 and select Jake Long.

Can anyone guarantee that Joe Flacco will fall to #32? no. You can't gamble like Cameron did last season. Also, Flacco isn't as good as Ryan, so BP would be "settling" for less, like Cameron did.

So, Matty Ice, is the no brainer pick for MIA.

if we did that we would be repeating what the past regime did...pass on the need for the franchise QB to select another need player and settle for a "less quality" QB in the 2nd round.

You mean you want this new regime to do that again? You want them to pass on the franchise QB, (who is even better than the franchise QB we passed on last year) and select a need player that we can still select at #32, OL.

We can't do this. We had a need at QB last season "and" other needs like speedy WR. So Cam/Mueller passed on the need for a franchise QB to select a speedy WR, which we had need of too. Well, Matt Ryan isn't Quinn. He's better than Quinn.

So we stand in the same predictament as last year. Needing a franchise QB and having now a need at OL. Well, are we going to select Jake Long, when we can select an OT and LG with both 2nd rounders....and settle for the 2nd tier types at QB again in the 2nd round?

Then, not only would we be doing the same thing, but most likely we will not have Joe Flacco to settle for. He is likely going to CHI in the 1st round.

Matt Ryan should and must be the #1 pick for MIA. We can fix our OT and LG spots with both our 2nd round picks. Heck, we can grab 3 straight OL with the #32, #57, and #64 picks. Which I wouldn't be surprised if that happens.

There is a reason why BP has focused so much on DL and LBs via FA. And a reason why he was aggressively trying to sign Calvin Pace. Because he does not have Chris Long in his sights.

He added a WR and a RG because he knows that he must take Matt Ryan at #1. He knows that OL can be landed with both our 2nd round picks. And if he does trade JT, he will have another 2nd rounder at his disposal to add a CB should he not trade down with ATL.

I very much respect Mike Mayock and believe he knows his stuff.

However, I personally do NOT want us to draft Matt Ryan #1. I want one of three players...

A. Vernon Gholston
B. Jake Long
C. Chris Long

I also believe John Beck has a ton of talent and really want him to get a fair shot. As for Josh McCown, he too has talent and should be a very good back up or maybe even the starter.

LOL, most experts don't have us taking Ryan with the first pick. Not sure where you get your info, but Mayock is about the only one anymore with that mock. Problem with Mayock is he has let his blind love of Ryan get in the way of his judgement.

If Ryan was such a franchise QB then why does Miami want to trade out of the first pick? That tells us right there he isnt such a cant miss prospect.

MrEd is mad or has gone mad!! Are you Mike Mayock or his brother. Not sure where you got all your info but if you are trying to proove a point it best to get the players name correct. Its Aaron Rodgers not Adrian! Also your hate for Beck is blinding you. We brought in McCown and now have four QBs. We might take a Qb in the draft but not overal number one. Also your information on the evaluation of Beck is from your imagination. There has not been an article once saying BP didnt like what he saw in Beck so much that he wants Ryan. Thats a rumor you made up in your mind. In fact BP is being pretty hush hush with his decisions. No one knew we were looking at any of the guys we signed on Feb 29 until we signed them. So just because Mike made some good guesses where idiot Kiper didnt doesnt make him God of the draft mock. In fact all this mock draft stuff is quite dumb. We will know who we pick on that day and until then everyone is just merely guessing what the ultimate trickers in BP and company is acutally doing!

He had 6 of 32 first round picks right last year. Your 99% accuracy rate is slightly off. Can you show me one quote by Bill Parcells (I presume this is who you meant by BP) saying that “John Beck isn't the answer Are you just making stuff up as you go?

And according to at least one AFC scout many teams have Flacco rated above Ryan. So aside from Mayock, Mr. Ed and hopefully Atlanta I don't see many people claiming that Ryan is a franchise QB.

Any scout that has Flacco rated higher needs to get drug tested. Can Flacco be a good player yes but combine and carnival drills do not make him a better prospect than Ryan.

Im all for not drafting Matt Ryan. It's way too risky drafting a QB that high. Let's look at the first round QBs the last 10 years.

1998 Peyton Manning, Ryan Leaf,
1999 Tim Couch, Donovan McNabb, Akili Smith, Daunte Culpepper, Cade McNown
2000 Chad Pennington
2001 Michael Vick,
2002 David Carr, Joey Harrington, Patrick Ramsey
2003 Carson Palmer, Byron Leftwich. Kyle Boller, Rex Grossman
2004 Eli Manning. Philip Rivers, Ben Roethlisberger, JP Losman
2005 Alex Smith, Aaron Rodgers, Jason Campbell
2006 Vince Young, Matt Leinart, Jay Cutler
2007 Jamarcus Russell, Brady Quinn

Besides a select few, most of these players are busts or backups at best. You are better off finding a QB in the later rounds of the draft.
