i saw it on nfl.com ...imo mike mayock's mock draft is not very likely..
he says chris long will fall to #6 and that we will pick matt ryan(because in his opinion john beck is not the answer..how can he say that so fast?)...i just don't see that coming...
imo mayock showed that ryan "is his guy" and that he has a (personal?) antipathy against mcfadden(in his ratings before the combine he rated him in the top 20 and after the combine mcfadden still not makes the top 10)...mayock also complained often about the fumbles of mcfadden but never about the many INTs of ryan..
Hey dude, Mike Mayock is always just about 99% right on his calls and he is 100% the closest mock draft to what actually happens. It seems to me more that you have a personal @#! on with john beck. Mike Mayock obviously has watched tape of both QBs and I will go with his and BP's assessment that John Beck isn't the answer as "every" dolphan saw last season. And that Matt Ryan is a franchise QB.
Mike Mayock is an objective expert. He doesn't put Mcfadden in the top 10 "just because everyone else does". He sees Mendenhall as the all around better back, so he says what he sees.
Then, this is the guy who called Adrian Rogers to fall all the way to GB when no one else would and everyone thought he was crazy. He called Ronnie Brown to be selected by MIA when others had us picking Braylon Edwards. He even had Reggie Bush at #1 (like everyone did) but would state that he has a hunch that HOU will actually pass on Bush and pick Mario Williams.
People looked at his mock when he called Whitner to BUF and Jason Allen to MIA and laughed. He was "right", again.
He called Jay Cutler the draft's best QB and a 1st rounder. While others said Cutler was a 2nd rounder. Cutler has looked better than Vince Young and done better than the injury prone Leinart. Oh, Mike Mayock called Leinart's fall out of the top five and what happened? Leinart fell.
Now, he looked at tape and was "not" impressed with Beck. Neither was anyone who actually faithfully saw the games last season like me. Also, he sees the QB who won the Manning Award "over Tebow". The QB who shows the "it" factor that Peyton, Eli, and Rothlesberger have and calls the obvious...
How can BP pass on Matt Ryan when what he has is John Beck? The answer is a no brainer. You don't.
Matt Ryan will be the #1 overall pick....as he should be. The only way we don't crown him the franchise QB is if/when ATL throws us a trade up offer that includes Deangelo Hall and the #3 pick and something else and entices us to go with Jake Long at #3.
Stop seeing what you "want" to see in John Beck and look at what he has shown and what Matt Ryan has shown.
If Matt Ryan sucked, then why would ATL even be thinking of moving up to #1 for him? He must be "that" good.
C'mon dude. Also, why would BP only sign McCown to a 2 year deal, which can actually be a 1 year deal if we so chose? Because of the reason why BP has ordered "every single pass" that Matt Ryan has thrown in his college career...to select our next QB.
If you go and look at Beck's tape. You will see that he doesn't "suck" per se...he just can't hold Ryan's jock strap. But he comes close to sucking if you go by what he has shown so far. And that is all BP can go by.
He can't just "hope" Beck gets better...he must go by what he has shown us in college and in real NFL play. Mediocrity at best.
Matt Ryan will be MIA's selection. But if ATL entices with a deal we can't refuse? Then we take Hall and the #3 and whatever they add and move to #3 and select Jake Long.
Can anyone guarantee that Joe Flacco will fall to #32? no. You can't gamble like Cameron did last season. Also, Flacco isn't as good as Ryan, so BP would be "settling" for less, like Cameron did.
So, Matty Ice, is the no brainer pick for MIA.
