I cant believe the referees. You know I have to admit today in the Pats game there was a bad call against Buffalo and tonight in SNF, the Colts get the biggest gift ever. Every game I watch the Colts, the more I think the refs are trying to screw the opposing team over. Tonight? Giants down by 2. 4 minutes to go in the game. Eli Manning complete to Carter for a huge 3rd Down conversion, but hold on. The flag flies out and the penalty is offensive PI. The replay is shown and the reciever doesnt even touch or maybe makes the slightest contact with the DB before catching it. The crowd is livid, one of the biggest reactions I've seen in a while, everyone in the stadium was going crazy. And there you have it, the Giants are handed a loss by the officials. The Colts never won, they got more help from the officials, who saved them. Tiki and the other RB were destroying the Colts defense and couldnt be stopped. Absolutely ridiculous and ofcourse, the NFL wont give a damn about it.

Last year in the playoffs, many teams were sent packing by the referees. Bucs, Seahawks, Patriots...there must have been more than that. They almost sent the Steelers packing, desperately trying to screw them over to help the Colts. I'm not saying all of these teams would have won anyways but the refs screwed up on many occasions big time. NFL HAS GOT TO ACT...NOW! I cannot stand watching anymore teams get screwed over in the playoffs by the guys in the pinstripes. Fire these idiots, we'd be better off without these foolish referees then with them. Incredible....every huge bad call that costs the team a game...I feel the like the games are truly being rigged. :mad:

LOL, just read a Colts forum. The Mod locked all the "poor officiating" threads. Obviously they cant stand being accused that the game was thrown their way by the officials.
 
I've said it once and I'll say it again, officating has steadily gotten worse over this past half of a decade.

Whitner was nowhere near the sideline but gets called for stepping out? Can the refs be THAT stupid?
 
The weakness of the NFL for years has been the officials.

I was watching the Jags v. Cowboys game earlier today and saw at least 5 CLEAR holding penalties that could have been called on both teams offensive lines, yet nothing happened. You always hear "holding could be called on every play". I would have a major issue with that obviously but I'd like to see the OBVIOUS holding called. No more phantom calls. Call the one's that are plain as day. If you have a doubt, keep the damn flag in your pocket.

They've been trying to fix pass interference since the damn of time. The inconsistency is maddening. I think they need to have a new set of rules drawn up for pass interference. The only time it should be a spot foul is in cases where the defender has clearly tried to stop the big play. Call it" personal foul/pass interference" if you have to but do something to get rid fo the spot foul thing unless it is clearly needed.

Getting rid of the automatic first down on defensive holding is also something the NFL should do. Give the offense the five yards and another down but not a first down unless the five yards gives the offense a first down. Defensive holding is such a HUGE killer now when all it should be is a simple five yard penalty.

Hell, make it a 10 yarder, just don't make it an automatic 1st down.

I know that the NFL is all about getting scoring up and entertainment but in there mad rush to have scoring go up they have ruined a key component to the game...defense.

The scales have been weighed far too heavily to the offensive side of the ball for too long in my opinion.

Did you read my post? I admitted the refs made a stupid call against the Bills. I posted this because I feel the officiating needs dramatic changes for the good of the game. I'm "complaining" for the many teams who have been screwed over by the officials in the past. Read the post and dont be friggin jerk.

See, they do change the rules, but usually until after it is way too late and a terrible call has changed the complete outcome of a game. God-forbid it is a playoff game with serious implications....:refuse:

And dont call me a friggin jerk....kettle=black is all I am saying.....:wink:

lol and when did I say the tuck rule was a good call? It wasnt. More bad officiating. I was only trying to make a thread with an opinion like I'm sure most all of us do, that the NFL HAS to do something with this officiating or the game is getting worse and worse...slowly. Try to grow up.
 
as samphin noted in a different thread, part of the problem is the nfl refusing to have full-time officials

This is one where Im not going to trash you because you admitted your call and also said you would rather have a fair game for everyone and not an advantage

EXACTLY!!!! The refs have been on the Pat's payroll since they screwed the Oakland Raiders out of the AFC CHampionship in the snow job game. :wink:
 
That is a bull**** call vs carter no doubt.
also that super bowl man seahawks got robbed.
steelers got a robbed int vs the colts.


Im just wondering what happens if were in a playoff game down 4 and we score a 40 yard run and the play gets called back for a holding that really wasnt and we lose the game ill go crazy, i dont know i would be insulting the refs the whole damn time.

NFL needs to look at it like this those are men officiating a business worth billions of dollars you cant mess up this is serious money and a serious game you cant screw a franchise, owner, hopes , city, outcome of game cause of a misjudged call the NFL is serious stuff yll need great refs to officiate in this games.

man o man aint these refs lucky they dont play in italy or have italian owners [MOB] LOL
